Title: 87Ford and Bowman's Monroe Hunt
Post by: bowman on May 06, 2010, 09:52:42 PM: We had a thread going "Were getting closer in the Monroe unit" but this is where we'll update everyone on our hunt.

Tonight we went to check out a new spot we were looking at on Google Earth. We saw a lot of sign. My dad and I will be going to the same road tomorrow morning. So far we have only missed 3 days of the season.

Is it mostly grass turds or are you finding areas where they are eating the grass?

The road we were on has a lot of grass growing on it and the feces seems to be all grass. There was 4 or 5 piles in about a 200 yard stretch of road.

Last night I hung 3 trail cams on this road. This morning I checked them as we passed by and I think I got a picture of a bobcat.

We saw a coyote this morning. We'll be heading back out tonight!

Post by: 87Ford on May 08, 2010, 09:53:02 PM: Well, the nice weather seems to have brought the spring bear hunters out. I ran into some other hunters for the first time tonight and one guy killed a nice one just off the road I've been hunting. Oh well, gotta be another one around somewhere.. :(

Nothing new to report. We went to a new spot tonight and didn't find ANY sign. Still have a couple weeks..
