nice way to catch the bird. How long did you stay there before the bird showed up, or was it a spur of the moment thing??
-
We spent the day at my gramp's house this weekend and took both of our camera's as they have a ton of feeder's. These were just a few of over 600 pic's we took that day. There were different kind's of birds in the fountain all day.

Cool,
I have three feeders in my back yard, and a hummingbird feeder in the front. My favoirite is the yellow birds that show up from time to time. They are very shy though and fly away when i get close to the window. While the finches are so tame I could almost pick them up.
-
I have some of those from this weekend I can throw up later, Grosbeak's and Goldfinch's.
-
Here is a yellow one... but not sure exactly what he is.
-
Western Tanager, good find.
-
I looked on the net, and the gold ones I see once in a blue moon are American Goldfinch
-
A few more from this weekend.

The hummer's were around, but in the shade most of the time making for tougher shots.
-
good pics dman,I get those here, and the occasional pileated woodpecker. The towhees I love to hear them whistle in the am and scurry about the ground.
-
Great shots. I saw/heard my first hummer yesterday and caught site of a tanager in flight as I let the dogs out this morning.
Sure signs of spring, thanks for the pics.

Thanks, the Pileated is one that keeps eluding me. I almost had one up at Tiger last year, was just focusing and he bailed. Very tough bird to get focused on, always moving.
-
Still sorting through them, but this is one of the better ones, this guy was so tame I thought he'd end up in our laps.
-
I've recently been invited to go shoot an audabon bird count, gramps leads the counts locally, looking forward to it.
-
Anyone notice the band on the grosbeak's leg in the last photo? I didn't even realize myself until today. I wonder who would band them?
-
Could have been a pet Dman !

Great pictures.
