I was heading down to Yakima from Ellensburg on friday. I got about half way down the canyon and saw 4 does standing just 30 yards off the road. I was about 1 mile towards Ellensburg from the monument rock. Down in the ditch I thought i was seeing someones farm goat but it was a deer. He was white with brown spots. It was a buck he had about 4 inches of new antlers growing. Cool for me and my 7 year old son to see. I was so mad because I didnt have my camera to take any picture :bash: :bash: :bash:. He was a little smaller body size than the does.

I saw him in the wymer cut about 6 weeks ago. didnt relize it was a buck as it had no antlers then. how would ya like to kill that!

This is atleast the second if not more thread on this. Someone needs to get a pic of it :hunter:

He was all white with a brown stripe down his back. Small spots all over. his tail looked just like a blacktail deer but it was white all around the edges and a light brown center. The deer he was running with were mule deer.

There are quite a few piebald deer in Yakima county. Did it look like this?

I saw this one in the canyon early this spring. No good photos but here you go. I guess there are a few running around there.

Yeah, I have seen him in Wymer cut as well.

I've went twice to photograph a doe in the canyon, SAME area, but have missed her both times. Cool that there might be two of them now. Increases my odds a little.
-
cool looking deer.
-
Very cool.
It would be cool to see a monster buck like that in a few years. Probably won't last that long in WA.

I've photographed piebald fawns in the same bowl the past two winters. Both years it was twin fawns with a normal colored mother. I saw this year's fawns in September and again in January. Must be a gene for them in the area that I've been seeing them...in Kittitas county.

I have a very poor photo of a piebald while hunting up in Swakane. The one I saw was almost all white with a few spots.

I saw a piebald up by Squaw rock about 8 years ago. I went up to the squaw rock store and the clerk went down the road and took some pics with his camera, I believe the pics are up on the wall somewhere there. The buck was a perfect little 16 inch 4pt. I then saw a little forky piebald at the beginning of the canyon by Sundown that same winter. It sure would be cool to get a piebald buck, except then you would want to fork out the money for a lifesize mount.

Here is the one you guys are talking about. Looks like he will be a forky to me.

That is the same one I saw. What day did you see him? Were you driving a red 4 door truck when you took the picture?
-
They're here on the Kitsap peninsula also !!! I've seen them off and on since 1989 here.

A friend called Sunday, asking me what the heck ran in front of her off Golf Course Road near Easton.
She described the piebald deer to a tee. Had to tell her she wasn't seeing things :chuckle:
-
that one is a funky deer for sure
-
I saw the piebold deer in the canyon a couple weeks ago right around the new Red's Fly Shop on the east side of the hwy. Took me a second to figure out what it was.

I saw one last spring from the canyon ridge trail about 4 miles in.
