Any one own a HI Point pistol or use one what did you think. I know you get what you pay for so I'm not trying to buy a hi point and get a Kimber. But for $130 for a 45 ACP that's almost to good to pass up what do you think.

The only thing I know is how damn ugly they are.

Save your money...I got the 45 ACP and its like holding a brick.
-
I have a Kimber we might strike a deal with ;) It is a bit more :chuckle: Mark

I have a .380 Hipoint. It lives under the front seat of my pickup. Not pretty, but it's never jammed on me.
(Crap. Now everyone KNOWS I am white trash... and not even the good kind of white trash that packs a S&W...)
-
Not pretty or very accurate but from what have heard dependable. Hi Point has a good warranty and backs up their products. If someone wants a cheap pistol to abuse not a bad way to go. :twocents:

(Warning yakima redneck speeking)Its not like the technology used to make a HI Point is that much different than that of a Springfield, S&W, ETC. The difference is in the fit and finish and there are a lot of $180 guns out there that work fine. I don't like the ruger 10-22 but I don't think ive ever had one jam. My brother bought a HI Point 9mm rifle for $99 dollars it wasn't real great on the accuracy side but I cant say it ever jammed with 1000+ rounds. Hell an AK47 works great because its clunky, huge tollerances help it function while trasporting a bucket of sand inside. I like to target shoot so I'd never buy one but they do go bang.

hi points smell like a used baby diaper filled with indian food!
-
Hmmm, I have never smelled that before..... Any pics?
-
Please no pics :bash: :chuckle: Mark

I dont' think I'd buy a Hi Point handgun for self defense...maybe plinking.
Their carbines have a good reputation.

I've not found any springfield or S&W .45ACP's that were a simple blowback design...or having slides made of pot metal. The technology and materials used is drastically different.
That being said, the C9 is the only one I could even half-heartedly recommend. It has a reasonable reputation. Their carbines have a GREAT track record...and are a TON of fun for the price. Their customer service is quite possibly the best in the industry.
Cheap? Yes...Ugly? Yes...Functional? Yes...Pistols worth the cash? Nah...not when you can buy good S&W or similar used for not much more $$$.

I had a Highpoint .45 ACP for about 3 years. The only good thing about it is if you run out of ammo you can just hit your attacker over the head with it. Probably a better weapon used that way anyways
-
and couldnt hit anything save your money and buy a ruger p89 or something like. that
-
I would take a hi-point if someone gave it to me, I'm sure it would be fine for clubbing fish.
-
Me an' my whole family luv ours....

Well, I would say say that he has a HiPoint in his pocket, but we all know that they are the size of a toaster, so I guess he's just "glad to see you"...
