I just thought it would be fun to see some big ol toms from this spring. As every one knows that I missed the biggest tom that I ever have seen and I also shot the biggest bird to date. He was 10 1/4 with 1 1/8 spurs
-
I also missed out on 5 of the biggest toms I've ever seen due to an untimely garbage truck, but was happy when I got a 19-1/2 lb, 8-1/2", beard with 3/4" spurs at 10 yards (beats coming home with an empty cooler) ... I passed on 7 jakes at 10 yards a couple hours later ... note that I got him on the only day I didn't have others with me trying to get them their first birds.

Pictures of: Mature Gobbler called opening weekend a few minutes after breeding a hen and the second bird is a Limbhanger taken the second weekend by one of my hunting partners, with 1 inch spurs and 9.5 inch beard.

called this bird in for a friend. It was a dandy!!!

My opening day bird has four beards totaling 33 inches. The beard closest to the head is actually two beards but were together in this picture. I didn't realize that you had to get it weighed on a certified scale for the NWTF but it weighed in excess of 22 Lbs on two different scales. Both spurs were also a little over an inch. It is up with John Naab at Willow Creek Taxidermy right now.

My bird with a buddys bird that he got opening day. It is an Albino bearded hen that we saw last fall that we couldn't get on. The only things on the bird that aren't pure white are the eyes and the beard.
-
Couple of trophy birds there. Congrats.
-
Ellensburgpo,
That was an opening day for you guys to remember for sure. Great trophies!! Hope the Bearded Albino Hen is at the taxidermist also?
-
The Albino is up with John too
-
Two birds of a lifetime there Eburgpro. Very nice.
-
very nice
-
Way to go E-po .... :IBCOOL:
-
I really like that albino....congrats
In the early 90's I called in an albino tom to my oldest daughter, she didn't want to shoot it because it was a freak. :bash:
Both my tags were already filled, a few weeks later there was a photo in Fishing and Hunting News, said from Stevens County so I think it was the same bird. Lucky fellow... :chuckle:
-
I was going to put a few pics up.........But Eburgpo, you've got my vote
-
Nice birds every one.
-
When your 6'4 and about 325# ya seem to dwarf all the birds
With the average size dude holding these they would look a little bigger. :P

Lots of good looking birds this year. Well done folks!
-
Got him just this morning, he's not the biggest tom on this post but still a nice one, 9" beard and spurs are over and inch. First tom this spring for me, they have not been cooperating for the last month and a half, I did pass up a flock of 4 jakes in early May though. I also managed to lose both my strikers this morning, oh well it was worth it.

Well it looks like there were some damn nice birds taken and some awesome pictures and I am glad everyone had a good time.. I found this season a little on the tuff side because of the weather but we managed to fill all our tags..Just got back today from hunting the last couple of days and there were still birds but it poured down rain the whole time ... I managed to fill my last tag in between sun brakes and seen 7 coyotes 2 moose a couple damn nice whitetail to be...for you guys who dont know me ,I was ONE of the first chapter presidents for the NWTF and I would say Washington has become one of the finest western states to hunt turkey..I have now hunted turkeys in Washington for a solid 25 yrs and have seen it come along way...Till next time enjoy the hunt... My bird 1 1/4 in spurs 9 3/4 in. beard shot 5/28/10
-
I was pretty happy with mine
