Title: Where to get an old mount redone?
Post by: Mr Mykiss on May 24, 2010, 07:12:51 PM: I'm not sure what the procedure is for "re-mounting" a deer but I have a really old mule deer mount that isn't in bad condition but it sure as heck isn't what I'd call prestine. Does anybody know who or where I could call? and what would I be expecting to pay for this kind of service? I'm in Tricities. Thanks.

Depending on the size you want and how much I've paid for the cape they could range in price aywhere from $100 - $175. Than $475 for the Mount. So to have it remounted on a standard shoulder mount your looking at anywhere from $575 - $650. Plus Tax.

Post by: Elkstuffer on May 24, 2010, 10:17:20 PM: Yea, you would just pull the antlers off of the old mount and throw it away and mount the antlers on a new form with a new cape. Most of us have capes available for muledeer, whitetail and blacktail.

I'm 125-200 for a cape
525.00 for a shoulder mount
Plus tax :hello:

So thats 650 + 7.9% tax = $701.35 with a smallish cape to
725.00 + 7.9% = $782.27 with a large cape :yike:
