Went out to shoot the bows yesterday. We were shooting easton axis but bought some beman carbon arrows. Anyway we shot the eastons and then first shot with the carbon it stuck right in one of the eastons. It went almost a foot into the other arrow now don;t no if we should try to pull it out and see if it;s okay or hang it on some horns. Does this happen very often.
-
That is called a Robin Hood and it doesn't happen very often at all. If I did that, I would probably hang it on my wall or something. :twocents:
-
yep thats why when i am under 30 yards i don't shoot 2 arrows at the same spot. and a true robin hood is when you shoot one arrow then try to shoot it with one other arrow. most anyone can shoot one arrow into anthor when there is 2-3-10-30-50 arrows in a target and they do get spendy :yike:
-
yea thats why they make targets with 5 spots
-
Yes they get very spendy, I would agree. I have a couple that I've kept and a couple hanging in different archery shops in and around MT and WA. Have shot a couple during 3d shoots, boy that will piss off the guy who shot ahead of you. But yeah, if there is only two arrows shot at a target, and the first is in the x-ring, and the other is in the back of it, then it's whats considered a true Robin Hood. If you just shoot one into the back of another arrow and they are in the 7 ring. That just means you did the same thing wrong, twice. ;)
-
I agree with the above posts. I guess I should have clarified farther about the true meaning of Robin Hood. If it was just a random shot that happened to hit another arrow then all I would see is money going out the door.
-
Not a true robin hood we already had 3 other arrows in the target but still a big suprise to us. We have been trying to shoot everyday and starting to get a lot better. We are going with bearpaw for a bison hunt in the fall and don;t want to much excitement.
-
good work keep up the practice, dont hurt your arm,I need someone to net my fish..
-
Not a "true robin hood" so what? That's pretty cool man! Keep up the good shooting and whatever you do don't pull it apart! That's bad luck!
-
Hang it on teh wall and make up some off the wall story on how you did it ;)
-
Gasman I already have a whole wall with that stuff. I might as well add to it and let the story grow.

:chuckle:

I thought you hit one flying through the air.
Shoot an arrow down twice in a row, I'll be impressed by that.
Anyone else trying to type with a release on?
-
knock hunting. what we call it always trying to shoot ur buddy's arrow. it cost money but only if its not ur arrow

In my back yard last spring. I'd shot a dot of red spray paint on the bale of straw and was working on picking a spot and shooting. I felt that "in the zone" sensation coming on... and voila... one TRASHED Gold Tip 3555. Talk about a mixed feeling... joy won that battle in the end though. :IBCOOL:
