I was wondering what store or website has the lowest prices for duck decoys? I am looking to get maybe half a dozen shell mallards that stand up so I can put them on the shore and things like that.
-
craigslist for cheap ducks. otherwise the field/full body ducks are kinda pricey, IMO. ebay.
-
wholesale sports had some on sale or closeout the other day when i was in the one in portland they seemed pretty cheap and were a good decoy i think greenhead
-
ghg has the worst customer service and questionable quality. I have $250 snow goose decoys that cracked first day in the field. Fullbody field type. Never could get any help from greenhead gear on it.
-
realy, thats good to know i won't buy anything from them then. i have looking into the hardcore deeks myself but they are a bit spendy
-
Talk to Paul or Denise at Aero Outdoors for floaters and full bodies. They might cost a lil more but they are well worth it!!!

It's really frustrating I tried to call them and email them like a dozen times back in Dec-Jan. I picked up a couple boxes of the snow goose full bodies at sportsmans up in bellingham. sportsmans swapped out a couple of my broken ones for good ones the first time, but after that it got hard for me to swap them out because thats 2 hours away and I'm only up there on occasion hunting.

its always nice to be able to buy from a local too. They are in Pasco I think?

I checked these out and they look really nice! Flocked heads? But man are they pricey! I am just wondering about some shell Mallards... not even full bodies if I don't have to....
-

Get GHG

Get GHG
thats all I have right now and I love 'em... I am just looking for places to get 'em cheaper
-
GHG can pump out a mass produced CHINA molded duck just like anyone else, with flakey paint, just like anyone else. Ask them to make a quality product and they fail. ask them to back up their product and they fail. Why support such mediocrity?
Aero's are expensive, but I'll be honest... you'll kill more ducks with 12 nice decoys and a couple motion decoys, then 100 mediocre decoys without motion. I've seen the Aeros, they are nice.
on Craiglist, just open your search up. I just search "duck" and "goose" or "geese".
if you really just want cheapo stuff just watch CL and eBay. I've picked up litterally hundreds of decoys on craigslist over the years for less than $1 ea.
-
good to know! thanks! i looked at them and really liked them... just only looking for shell mallards.. I have a bunch of everything else right now!
-
Knutson's *look* the best to me, but G&H makes some too.

i don't think you're going to spend less than $100 though unless you find some used.

you could always make your own too.
-
ya... just a dozen shells is what I am thinking... I am probably going to have to break the bank for them... but I think with taking care of them and the use they will get it will be worth it....
anyone else use them a lot?

If your looking for duck shells the best are GHG, spray them with 1311 and your good to go. GHG full bodies and shells hold up better then their floaters. :twocents:

Its a Krylon spray product. Its called Krylon 1311 matte finish.
It puts a nice dull protective clear coat over the paint.

I like to pick them up through Rodgers Sporting goods. They usually have a pre-season truck load sale.
-
if your not buying a lot..like say a doz or two...just spend the money on full bodies. You'll like them more.
