i know one thing i need to stop buying guns and bows and etc but i keep finding killer deals :yike: 3 new guns and 1 new bow in 3 weeks :yike: i got this t/c contender from a guy in town last night it is a stainless contender with syn fore grip and a syn pistol grip and he threw in the folding rifle stock as well. it has a 16 super 16" 223 rem barrel on it. looked at the barrel last night online and it alone was 320 :yike: i picked this gun up for 250.00 cash :IBCOOL: i am very happy with it "note it did not have the hollow sight sight on it, i just put it on it" if anyone wants a contender barrel he has a 221 222 and 7mm tcu barrel left i did not want to have to buy a bunch of new brass and dies and etc so i only got the 223 barrel because that is what i wanted. i didn't think i would ever buy one since i have a few great hunting handguns already but this will be my new tractor buddy. and i could not pass on this deal i am going to get a scope for it but i put the hollow sight on it just to mess around tell i get a new scope for it.

Should be a fun toy in the old tractor. Hard to drive a straight line when you are lookin for movin targets. :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
you got that right :chuckle: and when i see a yote i have to put in in park and leave the rpms up because if you pull it down and they hear it they seem to take off :bash: makes for a challenging shot :chuckle:
-
And im sure you get out of the rig right ;) ;)
-
Awesome...
I have an Encore rifle with 300wm and 22-250 barrels and my dad hunted deer back east as long as I can remember with his Contender super 14 in 7mm TCU.
Have fun with it.

I am jealous I just paid 200 for just a barrel. If you have time and don't mind I would be interested in the 222 barrels info. anyway great find and great deal. becareful they can be a little addictive if you start buying barrels.

And glass for each one too...
:tung:
-
o yeah he has scopes on all of them as well  i told him to keep the cheap scope he had on it like a sportscraft 2x or somthing like that but there are some good scopes on the other barrels left for sale
-
Did he have any rifle barrels for sale?
I'm not into the pistol thing yet.
p.s. you can get a trigger job done on them and they work out real nice.
www.bellm.com (http://www.bellm.com) is the place for upgrade stuff if you're interested.
-
i just talked to the guy a min ago and he is going to look into what he wants for them he also said he still has the other 2 barrels and the guy ditched on him and di not buy them. the barrels he has and they all have some kind of scope lower end stuff 50-100 are a 221 222 7/30 waters 6.5mm tcu and a 7mm tcu if and one is intrested i could help you out shoot me a pm and let me know what you would like and when he gets back to me with a $ i will email you guys. :hello:
thanks for the link jackelope no he just has these pistol barrels but they are pretty reasonable i would bet if you wanted to start geting a few
-
Somebody should get that 7/30 Watters.
I love mine. Nice little deer cartridge. :)
-
jackelope, wow that is a great place was just surfin a bit and 55 for a trigger job thats pretty sweet he is kinda the go to guy then by the looks of it.
-
Yes he is.
The best and 1st upgrade should be the upgraded tighter fitting hinge pins IMO. :twocents:

did he do the break on your rifle as well. it looks like he does a lot of porting as well. even though i don't need it on the 223 i see he is offering a 458 lott barrel :yike: one of my fave safari cal that thing looks sick
-
He didn't do the trigger or the break. They were both done by a guy local to me here.
458 in a pistol barrel?
:o
-
no its a short rifle barrel are you kinding me can you say snap :yike: if that was a pistol :chuckle: i like that break on your gun i need to get one done on my new 338 i just got i want one on my sako but i can't see doing it the 300 win mag does not bother me and to defile a sako would be a shame and it is a family hand down from my grandfather to my father to me and i love it the way it is. how well do you like that break? i don't know if i want a break or just hae the barrel ported :dunno: i think the break would be nicer but i am not sure the one that i like and my uncle has one i think are called vialis or somthing like that
-
Your uncle's would likely be a VIAS brake.
Mine is a Defensive Edge brake. I like it...honestly the only reason I had it done was because it already had an ugly one on the barrel when I got it so I had it replaced. I would go with either a VIAS or a D.E. if you want one...just make sure the guy who does it knows what he's doing. Mine is not that nice and clean in person as I wish it was.
:jacked:
-
i was the one tread jacking my own thread :chuckle: thanks and yeah that is what it is vias good break will look at the D.E. as well thanks
-
the T/C heavy barrel is a wierd size and DE doesn't make a brake the same OD. you can't mill down the O.D. of the part of the brake with the ports in it so they milled it to a taper behind the porting. It looks ok but the joint between the barrel and the brake is a little rough. Really it's not that bad...
-
i see just not a smooth line, gotcha
