Title: Westport Salmon
Post by: buckhorn2 on June 09, 2010, 04:45:22 PM: Was at our cannery today and they were buying king salmon and I talked to some friends who are trollers, A couple had 300 fish for three days fishing and the fish were close in just outside of G.h BOUY that is the south entrance bouy to grays harbor in about 17 fathoms. If the weather holds it should be good fishing.

Looking in the regs. looks like we're out of luck for salmon on the inside :'(

when you guys are referring to "inside" as the area west of buoy 13?

i might have to take my boat out and try dinking around willapa bay, being that it's only a little over 20 miles from my place...

No,, I haven't fish there. I have fish off of Willipa but thats been a long time ago.

I'm trying to talk Lady Nutcracker into heading down there for Pirate Daze..

Post by: buckhorn2 on June 11, 2010, 04:17:12 PM: They caught there quota now for this fishery. Talked to Rhett Weber of the charter boat slammer and he said the fish were top to bottom. Saw lots of boats coming in today and the port had the boat ramp messed up they were cutting up derilic boats on the ramp. Go early pretty big minus around 10.30. The hot lure for the trollers was a nomber 5 0r 6 black and white point coyote spoons. Guys were looking all over trying to find them they had some in aberdeen wal mart a couple days ago.
