where do you go to get the permit.and how?
-
local police station should do it for you. you fill out some paperwork and they take your fingerprints. it takes like a week to ten days or so to get you background checked
-
got mine in tacoma at the courthouse. I think it varies county to county
-
You can get them at the main county sheriff's offices. I got mine in Maple Valley originally. I renewed last year at the Seatac precinct.
-
I did mine at the Snohomish County Court House. Had to pay in cash. I got it back in 3 days. :IBCOOL:
-
Yep, police station, Had to set up an appt to get my prints taken (funny they already have them, and that time it did not require an appointment, story for another time).
Pay the fee in cash and 6 days later it was in the mailbox.
My other half did hers 2 days after me and hers arrived on the same day as mine.
-
Go to your local police department if you live within city limits. If not, you go to the sheriff's office.
I was in and out in less than 15 minutes...and it was in the mailbox 3 days later.
-
local Sheriffs office. $ 50 +- three weeks you have your permit.
-
When I got mine it was $50 and I was out the door with it in half an hour.
But, that has been 10 years or so and I need to get it renewed. I've been told that can be a pain.

yeah that, but me and my wife walked out of the office with ours the same day each on our 21st b-day and went and bought a new handgun to celebrate

You have to start over after 90 day lapse.

How long is the permit good for? One year? Four years?
-
I got mine last year in Kitsap County. Quick and easy. One complaint about them , though- why won't they make them the size as the drivers license so it'll fit in a wallet?
-
:yeah: :)

the LESA desk at the tacoma court house is where i got mine. The lady behind the desk hooked me up. My first one got lost, went to apply for a renewal. After filling out the form i waited in line while some home-slice bitched out the lady behind the desk because she would not give him a concealed permit (he had a pending charge). I cracked a few jokes to make her day a little better when it was my turn, apparently it worked, I asked if it would be another three weeks until i got it in the mail, she sighed and said yeah but if act like you are filling out this form while i print and laminate your permit. She was a real sweet heart. Guess if you treat them like human beings they will be nice to you.

I let mine lapse in October and just went and re-applied yesterday. $55.25 is what I paid at the Sheriff's Dept in the Sno. Cty. Courthouse. I'd be stoked if I got it in 3 days. 3 weeks is what i'm expecting. The first time it took 5 or 6 days.
-
iF YOU LIVE in the county you go to the county court house. If your in city limits go to your local PD.

I got mine the same day I went in, filled out the paper work, paid the 55.25, got finger printed, got my permit. Was a very easy process.

Same with me :dunno: must be a Klickitat County thing. I thought for sure I would have to wait to get it in the mail..... When I went to renew it here in Kennewick it took them about 2 weeks for them to send me my new card.
