How Big do u think this Billy is?? I don't know too much about goats. Anyone have an idea of how long his horns are? :dunno: :dunno: Its a crappy pic, but as close as I could get :)

zoomed in
-
big enough to shoot. i duno i honestly have no idea, i would say 8-10 inches. nice goat
-
40" pass
-
Hard to say.
I think about 9"
Also, I believe this is a nanny.
Not heavy enough at the bases to be a billy, and also, the horns pretty much stick straight up.
-
9" would be my guess.
-
I was asuming it was a billy. It was about 300 yards from the main group of 12 goats. The 12 were nannies and kids for sure. I am assuming this would be a respectable goat if one had a tag :dunno: :dunno:
-
I too would guess about 9", hard to tell in that picture though. Not a shooter in my book.
-
Big enough :bfg: :archer:
-
I would say it would be a shooter. 9"
-
Shooter for me...
-
nice looking goat would be a shooter in my book.
-
low 40's, pass...much bigger running around.
-
I can't field judge a goat for anything but if the guys are right saying low 40's then that should not be a shooter.
-
How do you tell the difference between a nanny and a billy? I thought billy's had a black spot right behind their horns, and nannies did not, but maybe that is wrong?
-
I think the billys have a gland or something that leaves a black mark above their eyes and they're heavier mass. The nannys are spindly horned.
-
Hard to tell but I think 9" is about right. Falcon may be right though it could be a nanny. It is hard to tell but the horns look pretty thin from that pic.
Weather looks miserable.
-
I think you are all being pretty generous with 9 inches. look at the ears thats the best way to judge them. there ears are typically 4 to fiive inches and those ears are more than half way up the horn. pretty thin horned
-
not a shooter in my mind. it might be a younger/smaller billie but really hard to tell. It looks like a familiar goat to me? Was it the one above Walupt lake?
