Title: Big Washington bucks?
Post by: alecvg on June 27, 2010, 06:52:58 PM
I am pumped for deer season, especially after watching some nice muleys last night up where I hunt.  So I wanna see pics of big bucks, on general hunts in Washington.  Lets see them!  No special draw bucks, but the otc bucks!

Hmm... Big, is in the eye of the beholder. The two on top are 20+ inch. I've seen bigger taken, but these are all Washington general rifle OTC bucks.

I can probably dig up a couple other dandy's taken recently. I'll have to dig through some files.

This is the biggest buck that I've taken.  I arrowed him in December of 2002.  The 8x7 buck officially scored 144 2/8" non-typical.

How big is big lol.

So here's Strutnrut1984's 2009 Muley from general season. Damn fine rifle buck. I don't know what it scored. Not a monster that you'd see or hear of for the November hunt, but certainly a quality buck in my book.

2008 was a fantastic buck for me but we didn't get very good photos.. got too excited to get him home and get the hide off since it was such a hot autumn day!

he's not really a monster but he was a very good deer for we hunt (over by Prescott.) My dad got him with his Browning 338 A bolt at about 120 yards. A little after first light.

Actionshooter,
We put it on the scale field dressed, without the lower legs and it bottomed out the scale at 240 lbs and didn't budge.  Meant to throw it back on the scale after the head and hide were removed but forgot to.  I have shot some big deer but that one is the definitely the biggest bodied deer I have ever seen hanging.

Yeah, opening morning right after daylight her first year in the woods.  He was hiding in the trees at the bottom of a small canyon.  We had just parked and were getting our gear together to start hiking when I saw him move down in the bottom.  205 yards, one shot and she was done for the year.  An atv with a winch and lots of mule tape made it easier, but we still didn't get out until almost 3:00.  I tried to tell her its not always that easy, but she is hooked now.

At nine years of age...taking your first deer should be a big deal. Probobly the best trophy I've seen in this thread. CONGRATS to the young hunter.  :rockin:

I've posted all these pics before but here are 3 more wilderness bucks, one on the hoof and two in the dirt.

Pathfinder101- I haven't had any of these officially scored but I came up with 182 (if I remember correctly) on the big one. I sure would like to know what the live one would score...maybe this year.
