Post by: logger on March 04, 2008, 09:40:18 PM
I have a 340 wetherby and was wondering what it's worth, leupold scope stanliess barrel synthetic stock, don't know anything about it as I am into muzzleloaders. was thinking about getting a 300 of some sort and getting rid of  the 340 smart choice or not?

The 340wby is a cannon and kills like crazy.  Very similar to a 338RUM.  What gun, What Scope, mounts, condition, Accubrake?  Need more details before you can get a fair guess on price.

I would guess a $1000 sight unseen. It's an Awesome Killin Machine if your hunting Moose,Brown Bears/Grizzly. But as far as the lower 48? I would dump it for a 300Mag or similar. Good Luck

the 340 will do everything a 300 will, just buck a bit more. $$ is gonna depend on which action and finish. the 340 is a great round if you are not recoil shy. in a light gun they can be painful, in a 10lb rig they are a joy.
