Title: mt higgins
Post by: banannaclip on July 10, 2010, 03:45:21 PM: anyone here ever hunt the wiley blacktail on this mountain,crosses the river at seapost hike too the top by the lake,theres some deer camp cabins on that mountain i know of three there built on the side facing the hiway 530, anyone else been up there,my dad ,uncle, and others used to cross the river and walk up from the bottom very beautiful area to hunt used too have a good popluation of deer

Post by: seaduckhunter on July 10, 2010, 05:02:31 PM: Gee Dont be tellin everyone. Actually have not seen much up there around Mrytle but when there is a late season they seem to be there in the river bottom. They come from somewhere.

OK river and stream I get but lake. :chuckle: I wasn't sure if there was a different C-post ...or seapost...or seepost. :dunno:

Post by: machine on July 12, 2010, 08:36:50 PM: been up the mountain a couple times.Seen deer but not many and nothing big :dunno: very cool area but would be a nightmare drag back to the truck.

Post by: seaduckhunter on July 13, 2010, 12:34:35 AM: Are you taking the spur where the road is washed out or the bridge has been removed? There is an old homestead you can walk into down by the river had a lot of deer in there.

Post by: seaduckhunter on July 30, 2010, 04:04:59 PM: There is talks of shutting the road down do to all the garbage and stuff being left behind by people including some irresponsible shooters. That isnt a maintained trail anymore there is also no permit required for that trailhead so they feel the road doesnt need to be left open for the trail access.

Post by: 7mmfan on July 30, 2010, 10:03:16 PM: It is sad. I've watched that place go to hell in a hand basket over the last 6 or 8 years. I don't know why it is so hard for people to pick up after themselves. Whenever i go up there I end up picking up a pickup bed full of trash.
