I have the opprotunity to buy a used schrade prohunter it seems like a pretty good knife. :dunno: anyone have one? the guy also has a uncle henry w/ faux stag handles that is pretty cool but in kinda rough shape.

As long as it's made in USA and not in ch ch ch china and the steel is soft enough to sharpen ya can't go wrong..

Buy the uncle henry. If it's in rough shape what is rough about it. The handle? The blade....is it bent or just used heavily. Uncle henrys are damn good knives....lifetime warrenty I believe.

I have a box of knives and my favorite hunting knife is a Schrade modified Sharp Finger with the gut hook on the end. I was never a big fan of the gut hook until a friend showed me how to use it to split the hide on the legs with it. Slicker than a wet whistle.

Read this and had to check on mine. One of the last things Dad gave me before he died was his Schrade Uncle Henry folder. Brass and what looks like rosewood with a leather belt loop case. Heavy as a crow bar and shaving sharp. Think I'll go google the Serial#. Can't hardly feel the seams between wood and brass, nice knife...
Almost afraid to take it anywhere..
