The X-Bolt is a fairly light weight rifle about (6 1/2 Lbs) that is not only appealing to the eye, but appeasing to the shoulder. No, I don't own one, but I know several folks who do (my next rifle most likely be the Xbolt Stainless Stalker in .325 WSM, already reloading for it ;)) and they have all let me shot there rifle in many different cals including the WSM cals. The Inflex tec. recoil pad takes all of the punishment so you don't have to, and it directs the recoil so that you can stay on target wile still absorbing the impact even in the WSM calibers. The barrel is free floated with a target crown, hand chambers and has a glass bedded chamber with all works together to improve accuracy. At 200 yds, we were still shooting 1 1/2 inch groups from a bench. The rifle also features an adjustable feather trigger which has almost no creep and little over travel, when the trigger engages, its a nice clean and crisp, and is honestly one of the best factory trigger I have used. The synthetic rifles also features the Dura-Touch coating which makes the rifle easy to handle and dosent slip form the hands. Haven't used it when my hands are wet and cold but I'm confident that I can keep a good grip on the rifle. The scope mounting system features 4 anchor points on both the rear and from bridge to more steady hold down your scope bases and with Leupold bases and rings holds the scope rock steady with no room for the bases to slip.
The features I like most which is a great improvement IMO from the A-Bolt is the detachable magazine. With the detachable magazine it takes less time to load and unload the rifle and the floor plate is never in your way for when your quick jumping out of the truck to shoot at an elk which you spot wile driving by a clear-cut. And you have a full magazine :IBCOOL:! Extra magazines are also available.
I think there an excellent set-up!! And I cant wait to get one in my hands that I can call mine! Maybe after another baseball season under my belt and I can afford one! :drool:
The only thing I really don't like about the rifle is just a personal preference. I prefer the Winchester Model 70 2-position safety. The X-Bolt has what they call the bolt unlock button. This is a button on the bolt handle, with the gun on safe you depress the button and it allows you to lift the bolt handle wile keeping the firing pin blocked. If the button is not depressed and the gun is on safe, the bolt is locked down.
This is a fun, and accurate rifle to shoot, and safe in the field. :twocents:

They cured two of my big beefs with Abolt, the trigger and the stupidist magazine system ever invented. I saw them around for about 750-850, that might be a hell of a buy.
If you had to pay MSRP you are in the price range of Sako, that makes it kinda iffy to me, which with my attitude about the brand is a compliment.

Ugly rifles, but shoot and feel good.That's all that matters. I'd rather have an ugly rifle that shoots good than a pretty one that don't shoot worth a damn.

I just can't handle the cheesy plastic clips. Every time I handled them when I was in the market for a rifle that was the one thing holding me back from buying one.
Those cheesy plastic clips are made from the same material that Glock, Springfield and many other manufactured use to make there frames....
I like having detachable magazines, at first when i saw the magazine i was thinking the same thing...but it did also take me a wile to get conferable with plastic guns, and now I love my XD. :twocents:
