Ok, how many guns do you have in the safe which you have never fired? I have two so far... :chuckle:
-
One I guess. I should remedy that.
-
Zero, they never make it long.
-
Zero! My Dad had the Washington State ATA Winchester 101 trap combo gun that we did not fire for about a year....then we got a wild hair and had to try it out!
-
ZERO, my guns are tools and I use them...
-
one,its a very old double barrel shotgun, that was given to me by my dad, which was given to him by his dad inlaw...
-
1, i have a S&W service revolver .357, Wa state pen 100 year commemerative with 22k gold inlays for the anniversary. my ol man bought it when he worked at mcneil island. not sure what it is worth or what it isnt worth, never had a round in the cylinder, hammer has never been back. pops has been gone almost 20 yrs now, that gun's status wont change as long as i am around
-
two, my 54 cal muzz, and my TC encore pistol. Pistols for sale. and gotta start using the muzz again
-
2, Glock22 .40 & .17HMR
-
1, 12 gauge Winchester marine defender model I think. My father in law gave it to me a couple years ago. It is a show piece pretty much. It has a chrome barrel and action with I believe it is teak wood stock. Very pretty gun, I have no idea what it is worth but I think the story behind it is it was givin to Coast Gaurd higher ups or something like that, I could be wrong though.
-
just one, it is a very early winchester 94 in near perfet condition. it was a gift from my dad, who asked me to not shoot it.......so to honor his wish, I have not.
-
Parker Hale engraved damascus barreled side by side BP 10ga. Serial number puts it 1889-1893. It appears to be fully functional. I know that my grand father hunted with it when my dad was young. I've never fired it. It is the only gun in my safe that I've never shot.

i have a mini 14 that I've never shot...not sure why. Just haven't made time in the last year +...lame huh!!

My first gun is a 1962 winchester 22 single shot rifle, and has no serial number, wonder why??
-
Zero. I don't see any point buying a gun and not shooting it. :twocents:
-
I can honestly say that I do not have any guns in my safe that I don't shoot.. For the simple reason,,I don't own a safe :yike:
Now on the racks are about half...

3, 2 of which are new. My A-Bolt in .25-06 does not have a scope on it, and the Ruger RS International in .308 win. The other is an old pistol a friend gave me, .32 S & W made by Forehand Arms. Even if I had ammo I don't know if I would shoot that pistol.
-
I have a Ruger m77 mkII in 7x57 mauser that I bought off of a guy about 6 months ago and I have not fired it yet. He bought it brand new in 2003 and he never fired it either. If I don't sell it I'll shoot it one of these days. I even have a box of ammo for it.
-

Odd.... I have a 1936 Winchester 22 single shot that has a serial number. It's not uncommon to have guns without serial numbers prior to the turn of the century, but after, I'm pretty sure there was a Gov requirement mandated. I don't rememeber the date.. I think it was 50's era.. or some such.
-Steve
-
A mint Ruger #1
Mint BLA .308
My theory is if the wood is too nice I probably will never shoot it. Everyone should have a handfull of collector guns. I like synthetic, stainless for dragging around in the woods and throwing in the truck.

When I get home I will take a pic and post it of the gun. Not sure why did not have one maybe because its a single shot?
-
I really don't know. I really could not even say what I own anymore. I know of at least one, a Russian SKS still in the cosmoline. Thought for sure that sucker would go up in value.......
I have an old .32 pistol that was my granddads that I have never fired. Don't really know if I'd want to.
-
Only one. Actually my dad owns it. It was handed down the old family tree. I believe it's a 1888 colt revolver or 1889. Something like that. He had it appraised for 5000.00 and actually has paperwork from the colt factory as to when it was made and where it was shipped to. Pretty cool. The appraiser/gunsmith told him not to use conventional ammo, it has to be blackpowder loads to keep from harming it. :dunno: He has never shot it nor have I. Probably never will.
-
Oops, just remembered another handgun in there.... that makes three.
-
Six, if we count a muzzleloader I bought used from another member. Two antique handguns and a sporterized Enfield rifle inherited from my father-in-law (actually, they are my son's). One handgun and one rifle purchased in the last year, which will both be fired extensively later this year. The other 10 have all been shot extensively!
-
two, old 22 that dad gave me and a AK that i got a year ago (got to get out and shoot it)
-
Some that havent been out in a long time but none that I've never shot.
-
Five. An old dbl bbl shotgun that god only knows how old it is, a Colt Woodsman, a Excel Arms .22 Mag pistol that I just bought, a old Rem .22 pump and a Rem Woodsman in 30-06.

it was the gun control act of 1968 the required all firearms have a sn# after that time.
anything before that was grandfathered in to not need a sn#
-
about 10, most of them are either broken that i haven't got around to fixing yet or very old collectors items.
-
i have 2 right now that i have not got time to shoot yet and it is so dam dry i am going to wait tell i am less busy and it rains then go give them hell
-
I think I have 5 in the safe not fired, a couple of those will stay that way.
-
ive got two...the first is a seventy year anniversary Ducks Unlimited Browining shotgun I bought a few years ago at a DU banquet....its pretty nice but I can't see myself shooting it. the other is a WWII 7.62 X 25 mm Tokarev pistol that my granddad brought back from Europe in 1944. It is a true take home relic with the government paperwork ok'ing it back into the states. It doesn't have the aftermarket stamp or crappy "safety" put on it. It is stamped BN 1939 and has the original soviet grips marked CCCP. I am looking at buying some ammo for it and shooting it and I still have some of the original ammo that was brought back with it and it hasn't been fired since 1985.
-
ZERO, my guns are tools and I use them...
:yeah: Unless there to old to shoot but i don't have any of those.
-
Several and they will never be fired or have the action worked or triggers pulled! A couple are commemoratives with my Dad's name and badge number engraved on them. The others were special runs of less than 100. A few more if you count the civil war and old west pistols and rifles that I doubt would work even if I tried.
-
Just one and I've had it for several months, been dying to shoot it but haven't had time to hit the range! Taurus 41 mag, maybe this weekend. :dunno:
-
I don't keep anything that hasn't been shot in the last 3 months. I keep a log of what I have and when I use it. I just check the log book every month and anything that isn't getting used, gets sold or traded. The last gun to go was a Berreta 92F in perfect condition that I bought for $350 bucks. I bought it because the price was right, but just never shot it. I sold it a few weeks ago for $400 and I don't miss it at all.

Fess up, how many guns do you own which you never fired
Blasphamy!!!
None. Whats the fun in that? I have several that don't shoot often but none that have never been shot.
-
Will I think its 2, Berette A391 Sponsor Gun and a Camo 3 1/2 Nova that I won at a DU banquet. I would have dumped the Nova since I do not like pumps bur its SN is my SSN.
-

Hmmmm let me think Weatherby MK V 300 lazermark, 1967 Browning Auto 5 12ga 3'' mag Belgium made, Remington model 11 12ga looks like auto 5 in 2 3/4'', pre 64 30-30win I believe late 30's era, Weatherby Athena 20ga o/u 60's era, 257 weatherby MK V custom, all were my grandfathers and inherited He was good friends with Roy Weatherby and hunted with him in Wyoming and Montana for about 15yrs, so the weatherbys are low serial # and a little special in each way.

I picked up a 375 H&H mag from my neighbor (he was on the way to a pawn shop to sell).
I picked up a 338 win mag (BAR) custom edition at an RMEF banquet.
I bought 2 SKS's when the Brady bill passed just because it pissed me off.

i know a guy who has around 300 long guns he has never shot. The first man i've ever heard admit that he has too many guns. Yes, he is still buying more.

Don't they have a show about hording? :chuckle:
-
there is some amazing history in those gun safes.
-
Zero. I only have one gun and have fired it.
-
I was sure this was a big fat zero for me, but I realized I have a winchester model 12 in 16 gauge my neighbor gave to me last year. I haven't bought any ammo for it yet.

I bought a 10/22 for my son a few months back and he is too damn lazy to go out to the range & learn how to shoot it. 'bout ready grab him by the scruff of the neck and make him sight it in on that damn Xbox he hasnt put down since school got out!!
Then I also have a stainless Colt Mustang Pocketlite .380 I've never shot. Already have one in the blued version so I know how it shoots already but I still need to get out & fire this one.
Last is a stainless Colt Pony Pocketlite DAO .380. It is brand new in the case and never been fired. So far I like fondling it too much with that in mind to actually pop the cherry so it sits lonely in the safe while all the others go out to play... Nasty long trigger pull anyway so I'm not sure if I want to shoot it all that bad!
-
25... Roughly.
I don't like to tell the world what I have in my safe but that's a close estimate. Mostly Model 88 and 100 Winchester's as well as bunch of Model 12 Win's and I have a fascination with Model 722 Remington's so have a bunch of those also.
I buy and sell often so I don't have time to take them all out. A lot of them are investments also so I choose to not shoot them. My kids will appreciate it down the road as I am appreciating what my Dad and Grandpa have collected over the past 60 years.

You should do some research, maybe it is stolen loot and the gun from the robbery. " Now where did I bury that box again? Who moved my marker? Crap! " :bash:
-
I have 2 that I have never shot. My grandad's single shot 12ga., not safe to shoot. A 270 vangaurd I bought for my wife. She's shot it but its her gun. May shoot it someday, may pass it to my daughter or grand daughter.
-
A couple model 94s and an old win 22 pump, never have and never will. I suppose when I am gone my son will shoot the heck out of them.
-
hoyt2002 that is a cool story!
-
More than I want to admit to publicly. Just not enough time :bash:

Missed one, I found a 10-22 that I forgot about

Although are are guns that I would love to purchase that I would never fire, all the guns I own have been used, and carried. However my little .380 I only fired after I purchased it and I clean it weekly, but don't really shot it, just carry it. I did have to make sure its reliable tho. I should shoot it more, its been about a year.

i know a guy who has around 300 long guns he has never shot. The first man i've ever heard admit that he has too many guns. Yes, he is still buying more.
I worked with an old dude who was a sniper in Viet Nam or Korea (i can't remember which) but guns were his life. He told me that he had somewhere between 300-400 rifles and that most of them were packed in grease, plastic and buried around his place in Lacey and at his cabin above Neah Bay. He came into work one day with over 100 rifles in the back of his truck and was headed off to hide them. Most of them had never been shot.

I guess that right before he died he gave a map of their locations to his buddy (probably his only one). Yep, it would be pretty darn cool to stumble on those!
-
Just picked up this little guy last weekend plan on shooting it soon :IBCOOL:
-
What guns?

I have absoulutely no use for a gun that just sit's in the corner doing nothing... I'd rather sell and hope someone's shootin and killin with it.
