any info on unit 346 this season, after last years mud slide and light hunter pressure?
-
I think it will be a zoo come archery season. I've only hunted it in late archery season mostly for deer.
-
I would imagine the hunter pressure was about the same last year. People, especially hunters seem to find a way into their areas somehow. :twocents:

i don't know about little naches but i hunted the nile last year for rifle deer. Saw a lot of people and dang few deer.

hunted this unit for the past 20 years...... I only hunt with rifle but here is my input........
90% of the people that hunt the Little Naches hunt from the road!!!!!!!!!!! Sure maybe the first few days they walk out into the trees a little ways. But after a few days it becomes a ROAD HUNT MOUNTAIN......
Get off the roads and you will be rewarded with lots of animals.........they are there you just off to get off your butt and out of the truck to find them............

Like 300magman said. If you put in the miles (hike) you get to see some action.
I have been going up the last 2 yrs and there are tons of roadHunters.

There are a ton of elk in the Little Naches. Being open to general archery this year should produce some great opportunities for those that know how to hunt.

was in there last weekend for the first time ever. got into the wilderness and saw good sign. Boy if you get off the trails it gets tough hiking as it gets thick. On the first night i left my camera at a creek where we filled up with h20 and only noticed that i left it as we were about to make camp for the night. decided to go back for it the next morning. When i was about 200 yards from where the camera was the largest bull (6X7) i've ever seen and an otherwise nice 5X5 were blocking my path to get there. ...obviously no evidence, sorry. watched them for about 5min before i felt the wind hit the back of my head and 10 seconds later the jig was up. As sweet as it was to watch them, my cow and spike only tag wont do much good on them in a few months. i'll try to have the pics i do have up tomorrow. Jay

I know, the cameraman stinks. Neat area we were in. I just have to figure out how to get close to a cow or spike... or a bear, during early archery. Jay

another pic. same bad cameraman

Wow jay I wish I would have stumbled on those bulls. I have a any bull tag for peaches ridge. Hope the rest of my scouting is that successful!
