Title: Dog Food Coupon Swap!
Post by: CoryTDF on July 20, 2010, 10:54:47 AM
Hey everybody,

I was reading through some old posts about dog food and had a good idea. Every now and again I come across coupons for dog food. If it is for the particular type I feed my dog i keep them but if they are not they end up in the trash. Today my vet gave me a big new puppy pack thing from Hill's Science Diet. This is not the food that I prefer to feed my dog but I'm sure there are others who do. The kit came with a few coupons for Hills Science Diet food. So, this is what I was thinking. If a person comes across a coupon for dog food why not post it up on the site. In today's tough economy everybody could use a little help and dog food is certainly not getting any cheaper. If a person sees a coupon they want then you PM the person who posted it and arrangements can be made for how to get the coupon to said person.

MODS if this is in the wrong thread I apologize feel free to move it or delete

 I have:

2 $3 OFF Science Diet

1 Buy 4 get 2 Free Of any cans of Science Diet canned food

I feed my dog as much "people" food as possible (mostly meat) and as little dog food as possible. You never know what kind of junk is in dog food. I'm afraid too much of it might kill her.

Diamond makes Costco's dog food for them. When I used to feed it you couldn't tell the difference between the two except for maybe the protein levels.

Diamond is the manufacturer of Kirkland dog food and Kirkland is costco's brand the recipe is the same as Chicken Soup for the dog lovers which is also manufactured by diamond and if you go to Dels feed stores they have their for life brand also made by Diamond ;)

I would offer coupons for the brand I represent but the current economy left me without any coupons for my customers this year.... :(

Some other dog food facts Waltham which is Pedigree is actually owned by mars candy bars company ;)

the main thing to look at is not price its ingredients and where the ompany sources those ingredients.....Science diet is full of corn soy and wheat and glutens yet is priced as if it is a high end no filler no grain food.  Read the labels.

Yes that is very true. I swapped to a higher end dog food and my dogs look and feel great and have tons of energy.

Your are right about the fillers. My vet did say that it is still not a bad food. It's the only thing they sell in their office.

I used to feed Diamond but have switched back to ProPlan. I heard bad things about Diamond and it having alot of recalls. It also happens to be the food that i was feeding Boone before he got sick and died. I'm pretty sure it's not related but I don't want to take the chance.
