PHOTO OF THE MONTH CONTEST AUGUST 2010
SHOW ME THE VELVET Bucks and bulls (preferably moose. : )
.
-Photo size MUST be 800x600 pixels or LESS Most violated rule PLEASE!!!!!! Several REALLY nice shots were left out last month because of this YES SKY...I am talking to you)
-Photos need to have been taken within the last calendar year.
-Photo must have been taken by the person submitting it, or of that person in the case of a field photo.
-4 entries per contestant are allowed this month. If more than 4 entries are submitted the first two elegible ones will be the ones accepted for the contest.
-Entries must be submitted by midnite of the 26th of the current month in order to qualify for that Months contest.
-Photos of Washington material will receive preference in judging as the winner will be posted on the front of a Washington site.
-Previous Photo of the month entries will not be eligible for this months contest
-The winner of the previous months contest is not eligible for the next months contest.
-Entries will be accepted or rejected as is, meaning the judges will no longer enhance, or alter images. Resizing is legal if you can talk a moderator into doing it for you.
The photos will be evaluated by myself and some of the admins/moderators. The top two or three may then be voted on by your peers. A winner (NO TIES) will be announced when the poll is over. If there is a tie, we'll sort it out.
The Winner will have their photo posted on the front page
New Ideas for the contest:
We are going to start having themes for some of our Photo of the month Contests. These are not in concrete, but as outlined for now. Get out there and get those PICS.
January....photo of the year contest/open
February....Winter Predator hunting
March...
April.....Shed antlers
May.....Fishing (combo this year...Turkey/Fishing)
June......trailcams
July....Landscapes, spring flowers summer hiking trips etc.(wildlife or scenery can be included)
August.......Velvet bucks or bulls
September ...bowhunting/Archery
October....open
November.... Field photos
December.... Winter scenes (wildlife and scenery acceptable...anything winter)

Saw a nice bull yesterday as I was flying down the highway through Littlefoots neck of the woods. He already had about 30 cows with him. He was quite uncooperative waiting for me to dig my camera out of my backpack and switch lens'.

That's a quality Muley. :drool: Will you hunt him, and if so, with what weapon? The last few years I have been chasing the mule deer around with my bow, but this season will be my wife's first, so I was planning on setting up the ground blind in whitetail country. This makes me have second thoughts...

If I had an archery tag there would be a slight possibility. Pretty sure he's hangin out on private land and I'm not the only dude who's seen him. I bet someone sticks him this year. Seems like a killer year for antler growth. I have a late Entiat modern tag and a late muzz deer tag for Oregon good for the end of October. Seeing bucks like that guy get me even more excited for my late hunts!

Holy cow that buck has some LOOOOG G-2's, what state is that bugger in? Wyoming is my guess.
