Title: question about gmu 672 access
Post by: yajsab on August 11, 2010, 02:55:47 PM
I haven't been there lately, but a friend of mine said that the area is being gated.  Has anyone been there lately and is it being gated?  Thanks.

Much of it already is gated and has been for years. What specific part of the unit are you thinking of?

it really depends on which part of the unit your talking about. there are quite a few gates but a lot of them are usually open.

I usually access thru Doty (Elk Creek Rd).

Well, I've been wanting to go check it out, but haven't found the time yet. It's possible that some of that area may be getting more restricted due to the wind farm that is going in up there. I haven't been out there since last summer, so I don't know, but I do know construction was supposed to begin this summer.

Here is a map that shows the area of the wind farm:

I was up there during the spring, The mainline has a gate about 1.5 to 2 miles in. It was open then, all of the roads branching off prior to it are unrestricted ( i assume ), accessing state lands.

Thanks.  Guess I'll have to find time to go check it out.
