well a good place to start would be what area are you from?  From there we can give you some suggestions on areas close to you.

For the west side there is really only release sites and they are not great. They fill a void, and offer an opportunity. If you have never experienced "real" pheasant hunting they do the job but once you have seen how it should be they leave a lot to be desired  :twocents:. Letting us know where you are from and where you would be willing totravel would certainly help  :dunno:.

Washington Atlas and Gazetteer, in the front there is a list of alot of the public hunting areas and the type birds that are found on the grounds.  It gives the location of the hunting site and the acreage there.  Some places get hit pretty hard if they are near to a bigger city, try hunting durring the week or get as far from the roads as possible.  Most of the forest lands that are open to hunting will have grouse on them.
