Its corn in a can that looks all puffed up. I have only seen it white. Not sure what they do to it to get it like that, but I like it. May grandma used to make it all the time. I think I have a can in the cupboard.

Love hominy, and any thing fried is always better. Don't think the salt and other THING sounds very good, though

Sounds good what section of the store can I find it?
-
Isn't it corn that's soaked in lie or something similar?
And if you're salt and peckering it, it's already served with a hot sausage. :yike:

i don't love it, but i don't mind it. my dad turns green when ever he hears the words "hominy"

Man Rasbo, you just made my mouth water and brought back some very fond memories. The way you described cooking that hominey is EXACTLY how my Gram used to cook it for me when I was a kid. If she didn't have any cans of hominey then she would sometimes subsitute the hominey with garbanzo beans and fry the garbanzo's the same way. I'm going to the store today and pick up a few cans of hominey!! Guess what one of the side dishes is going to be for supper tonight? ;) It's been over 40 years since I've had some!! Thanks for the post.
