I've been experimenting. You'd think it would be easy, but it certainly isn't for me. Who cares right, its just the moon. Well, in the world of hunting, I've lived and died by the moon, or at least my success has.

Cool...
Tell us more about how the moon has guided your success.....
-
Its hampered way more than its helped. :chuckle: Its a pain in the ass when its full and all the critters do all of their frolicking at night.

Montana Moon

Went fishing with lights on a full moon night hardly caught a thing until some clouds blew in,then it was great! Then there's whole werewolf thing! :yike:
-
I was hesitant to open this up at work. I had visions of hairy butts hanging out windows :yike:
-
Here is a rare one I took while in the southern hemisphere.
-
the double moon one is awesome
-
Cool pics guys. Here is a pic of the full moon over Silver lake. The problem with most moon pics is that they rarely capture the beauty of the real life moment. Kind of like looking up at the stars at high elevations. You can see a picture but nothing compares to being there.

Whats up with the double moon one?? That is cool....
-
My guess is he is from another planet that has two moons. ;)
I was thinking on asking the same ?
-
Nice shots guys.
-
:chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: nanu nanu
-
How about a "Moon Fish"
-
That first shot is nice Bone, you can save it for later and add it to shots later to make some cool looking images. This is your moon shot added to this, flipped it and rotated to match the shadows.
-
that third pic is amazing bone. Really beautiful. Here's one from a few years ago at Burke Lake from mid April.
-
Thanks Cowboy.
Whoa that is cool Rob. Which program are you using now? That turned out really well.
-
:chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: nanu nanu
I have a feeling there is not as many people who get that reference as you might think. :chuckle: Kind of identified you age there wapiti, but then I guess I have also when I chuckled about it. :chuckle:

You got it. WOW do they look young? The double moon shot was taken while I was fooling around with double exposures back in the film days. Now its easy digitally but back then you had to work at it. Key to a good moon shot is to show the detail like Bone. Exposure is for a shot in daylight because the moon is a sun lit object.
-
I'm using CS4 Bone.
-
From a few years ago. Now that I have better lenses think I will go try again.

wow nice shot sooperfly! never realized how bright a full moon actually is until yesterday, there was enough light out i could practicly shoot my bow at night
-
The moon is VERY hard to get right.
CR gorge moon.
-
All very cool pics.
-
It sure is if you want to have any detail in the foreground. If you zoom on just the moon you can use a manual daylight setting like 1/250 th sec at F/8 and do pretty well.
-
Its hampered way more than its helped. :chuckle: Its a pain in the ass when its full and all the critters do all of their frolicking at night.
And looking at the moon phase calendar, compared to this years hunting seasons that I'll be in the field, Many of us will certainly be hampered. Pray for thick clouds!

Those are cool Quad. I'll need to try to do something like that.

Watched the moon rise last night after my evening bear hunt. My wife captured these, our camera isn't anything fancy. It was really cool in the binoculars.
