Thanks guys! I really am goin to do my best to whack this big ol boy.

The area is so thick i cant get my camera to take color for the life of me.
going back this weekend to put some more alfalfa and a couple tree stands.
This will be my first branched antler if i can knock him down.
Gonna try and get it filmed too.
Stay tuned the saga continues.

TOMORROW IS THE DAY!!!!
Good luck everyone!
Go getem bro
-
Best of luck to ya bwb! Hope to see some success pics soon!!!!
-
I'd have kept all the limbs on your ladder stand tree for better concealment. Looks pretty exposed. And you better watch the wind like crazy in tight quarters like that too. If the wind isn't right, stay out of there until it is. Good luck.

:yeah:
With nothing between your stand and the feed site, especially at that short of distance you are going to have a hell of a time pulling it off. You would be better off placing your stand at the farthest of the three trees on the left. Hope it all works out for you but if not think about backing off a few yards and with some more stuff between you and the site. :twocents:
-
ha ha ha....no way anyone could ever find me.... I'm secret squirrel agent.... :chuckle:
Just track the cow with the collar. It should take you to the spot. Looks like a secret Nooksack spot.
-
saw lots of animals today and they had no idea i was there.
could have killed like 10 cows and a spike.
saw the 5x5 but not in my area so hopfully pressure will push him to my stand.
day 1 in the books

Did somebody harvest the 5 point? The pressure will be out in force on Friday- Sunday, so hopefully you can tag out.
-
Good luck bud :hello:
-
nope... the 5 point lives.
saw him yesterday.
he is hanging around my spot.
hes not dumb and knows whats up with all the other pressure around the area so hes staying around my spot where its safe. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
for now im just waiting for a lil more pressure.
Takin a day off from stand.
tomorrow hittin it hard all day
ITS MY BIRTHDAY TOMORROW.
-
Killem on your B-day. That would be nice. Good luck to ya Mike.
Hey...what do you have in the tub?
-
Thats the plan. Happy 3pt min for me.
Horse block.
-
Happy B-day and good shooting ;)
-
Thanks!
my box of goodies showed up today so no i will have even a better chance tomorrow.
-
Good luck getting your b-day bull BW :archer:
-
No birthday bull for me but i had a close encounter today with a calf and cow and a big spike.
i think they winded me though at about 35 yards. they slowly turned and walked off.
No worries still have lots of time to hunt.
gotta love the multi season tags.
birthday activites tonight and Huskies game tomorrow.
back at it sunday and all next week.
-
After you use all that scent eliminator I think you should go roll around in all that alfalfa. Then you will smell an alfalfa bail sitting up in that tre stand. :chuckle:
-
thats the ticket, make camo out of it :chuckle:
-
:chuckle: im about to try anything at this point.
I am definitely in their bubble.
-
thats the ticket, make camo out of it :chuckle:
wait a minute, wasn't there just a video of some guy going through a baler on here? was that you trying out some new camo? :chuckle:
-
ha ha nah!
However im gonna be super stink clean tomorrow morning.
heading back in the stand all day tomorrow.
-
Watch the wind in there and don't over hunt that stand or it's going to get loney really fast.
-
just got back.... saw 2 cows and put new batteries in cam and fixed my candy pile.
the big boys should be comin in soon.
i know of three in the general area that went down over the weekend.
-
As the rut continues and peak breeding ensues, those bigger bulls won't be thinking much about eating. I'd find a wallow for your ladder stand or get back on the ground and make something happen :twocents:
-
yeah i think by friday i might have to change tactics a little so we will see.
thanks for the thoughts
-
Well as early archery elk draws to a close i am sad to report that after 10 long days and evenings i came up empty for this first go around. The elk were coming in pretty regularly lots of spikes and tons of cows but no legal 3pts got within my bow range.
I was out there till pitch black dark last night in the monsoon rain that showed up and too bad it wasnt spike season or i would have been tagged out for sure.
Anyways just thought id update. Next up Muzzleloader season. Gonna move my stand to a different location on the property so stay tuned for some new cam pics in the next week or so.
-
Stay patient.
-
That seems to be the trend. "patience"
but thanks.... im learning some serious patience this year thats for sure.
-
Keep at it.
-
next friday gonna go with dad and brother over east to our general elk area to try my luck with a ML.
then monday ill be back in the stand.
-
im Guessing Hancock Down low, or stosel. just found the site im from carnation i got skunked in the early season hello 454!
-
Nope.....not even close. Its private too. Gated area. :IBCOOL:
:hello:welcome to the site
-
im sure you have heard of the 7x7 runnin around up high in the lower valley, i tryed a couple times nothin but a couple cows and a two point, you drew for multi season lucky *censored* :bash:
-
Yup and been using it as many chances as i can get so far only missed two days of archery season.
also hunted just about everyday for spring bear too. yet to connect this year but the time is drawing near i can feel it.
leaving friday for opening muzzy. then monday back in my stand.
-
yea good luck on that bull... when you kill it and need help packin it out, you know im always down for a new honey hole lol. im sure ill run into you someday
-

-
