Okay guys and gals, I was going through old pics and realized I have a ton of rut activity picks and thought I would share some. I would love to see all yours too so post them up. I'll start with this little guy, obviously thinks he a stud :chuckle: I hope you guys are not sick of picks, looking at them helps get me through the rest of the year. ;)
-
Im not sick of pics...post all you like in my opinion. Thanks for posting...I dont have any rut pics...
-
post em if you got em. I'm out of freshies....I'll have to dip into the archives when I get a chance.
-
Same buck still dogging his doe
-
Post away!!! haha  That buck must think he's bigger than he is??!! :chuckle:
-
Different small buck
-
looks like a good mature deer to me. Good size body.....Has that muscular upper bodie slash beer gut look to him....deffinantly a 4 or 5 year deer.
keep the pictures coming.
-
nice pics phool. i love to watch them do that. my buck from this year was doing that very thing when i killed him. poor guy.
-
i love pics... keep posting them
-
Obviously the debate wouldn't matter, but I would say about 3.5 Jay
-
Hes probably right Jay, in that area the 4 and 5 year old bucks have better mass, typically.
-
Another big body buck looking for love :chuckle:
-
well good size deer then. Look like a good mature buck to me......but ill go with 3.5 years if you say so.
-
I shot oen that big before that was only 2. still following his mom and sister aroudn the woods. defianitley wasn't rutting either if you try to say that. Just good high country genetics. Saw some 4 or 5 year olds uo there this summer that were prolyl close to 300 pounds on the hoof there were amazing buckskin color like an elk almost looke dlike elk at first. Only got one terrible picture and then the camera died.
-
Love your pics! Sure wish it was November and I had that 6,000 lens in my front seat with a full tank of gas. :)
-
Great pics Phool!! That last buck is a brute body wise and even though he wouldn't score high you got to love him!! Thanks for posting them!!
-
As Eddie Murphy playing Buckwheat would say, Wookin-Pa-Nub
-
Same buck. He was curling his lip and licking the air and his nose, just really dogging this doe. Glad you guys are enjoying the pics!!!

Great shot phool, and we never get sick of them.

Same buck, decides a little forky was just a bit too close to his hot doe.
-
Keep the pictures coming!
-
Another buck with love on his mind
-
You were in the right place at the right time on that one. Nice shots.
-

I only have pictures in my mind! Nice pics! Are those all montana deer?
-
Most are from the area I hunt in Montana.
-
couple more...
-
How close were you to these deer? Or do you just have a really good camera with a great zoom?

On these deer I dont remember, probably about 50 yards or so. Great gear is all relative Cougeyes, depends on who you ask. Its all Canon gear and seems to work well for me. Here are a couple more of these deer. Check out the pisscutter in the back waiting for his chance to cut in. :chuckle:
-
I missed the thread. And all this time Phool was having all the fun by himself... I get a lot of requests as to gear used and settings that pictures are shot at. I'll try to include them when possible.
This first one is a big buck, there are a few pictures elsewhere on here with him. I think the general consensus has been about 190" gross buck. Here he was chasin the d-hoes...

Canon 40d, 300mm f2.8L, shot at iso 100 and f2.8 @ 1/250th
I took this one a number of years back. This buck had it all, really mature. He lip curled on the top of the ridge while looking over his ladies...

Sorry no porn pics

I'm pretty sure I'd have let the air out of him.
Here is a little Washington action for you guys. This guy was in a field dreamy eyed of all the fresh stuff around him.
