Title: X Large Alaskan Caribou 21 inch shovel (A Living Memory Taxidermy)
Post by: BLKBEARKLR on August 18, 2010, 05:06:54 PM: Well got this one in around feb time frame. Did not know how it was going to turn out the cape had been cut wrong on it. But played with it and got some good advice from a buddy taxidermist up in Alaska. So here is the finished product. Enjoy the pictures, he is not a member on here but will try to talk him into becoming one so he can tell his story.

Some may notice the horns are past the back of the form, he is putting it on a beam across his man cave, so not worried about horn clearance.

Hey just got to ask? Why do you think it is an interesting color for a bou? I have seen them everywhere from blue, to grey to dark brown?

Caribou eyes vary. So the color of eye BLKBEARKLR chose is not an oddity. I can't find a quick pic of google that even shows an upclose picture of a caribou eye, bt i did not look all that hard. All my photos are on picture paper. My suggestion would be REFERENCE! REFERENCE! and more REFERENCE!

Can I add one thing....REFERANCE, REFERANCE, REFERANCE :chuckle: Sorry Mich , I had too :P I really didnt realise how many color variations there were with caribou eyes. It was nice to learn something else new about them critters.
