Title: Mellow Bears, Baiting, and some Doritos Please
Post by: h20hunter on August 19, 2010, 10:18:33 AM
Saw this on Komo. Pretty funny actually. I would be happy to find the bears and maybe even get some reward money for turning in the plants. Article says the bears appeared docile. HELLO! They were stoned. Ever see an angry upset stoner?

CHRISTINA LAKE, British Columbia (AP) - Police who uncovered two marijuana fields near the U.S.-Canada border had to tread carefully: 13 black bears were wandering around the crops.

The fields of about 2,300 plants were found near Christina Lake, just a few miles (kilometers) from the border.

Royal Candian Mounted Police Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says that when police arrived in the area two weeks ago, they discovered the bears and cautiously went about making the seizure.

He says the bears were docile and obviously were used to humans. They could be put down if they are too habituated to people.

The property's two owners were arrested on charges of production and possession of a controlled substance.

It's unclear if they used the bears to guard the pot fields or just liked having them as pets.

Good point on the scat. I guarantee there are no berries left anywhere close by!

I wonder if those bears were letting their fur turn into dreadlocks while playing hackey-sack.

About 10% of the THC the bears ate would be metabolized and stored in the fat for about 30 days, so if the bear were eating buds I think the answer has to be yes! You would get ripped! funny stuff.Bears have alot of fat and hibernate so it might be much longer than 30 days, which is for human....mmmm Humboldt county bear meat, LOL....
