i have been shooting my beman bone collectors with field tips and then threw a broadhead on the other day (muzzy mx3). holy crap, they are now mimicking a strausburg curve ball! has anyone here had the same experience? if so, what broadheads are you using?
thanks for any info

What bow, draw weight and draw length? Also what spine arrows and weight of points and BH?
-
08' bowtech alliegence @ 70 lbs. with 29" draw 340's cut at 28.5"

Assuming you are shooting 100gr tips you might be slightly under spined. Have you shot through paper with your field points?
-
had the same problems with the beman mfx arrows i switched to carbon expess solved problem. like mentioned above could be under spined
-
from my understanding, the beman bone collectors are the same as the mfx's, minus the sticker. yes i have shot through paper and everything was fine.

The broadhead will change your FOC and therefore might enhance an issue with being underspined. I am assuming that your field tips and broadheads are of the same weight. I would try a stiffer spine or another broadhead. A magnus head might shoot much better than the Muzzy. Did you spin test them as well?
To correct your spine (change your FOC), you could lower the weight of the broadhead or shorten the arrow but those might not be possibilities.

Was this just one BH on one arrow? If so try switching around. I shoot all my BH tipped arrows before they go in the quiver. Once in awhile you may get a "flyer" and need to switch things up.

Did you tune your broadheads?
-
Based on the spline specs off the Beman chart you spline should be more than fine and you know this. I know you love the Muzzys, and you rap your arrow this may pull your front of center off, try a 125 grain tip to pull your front of center back more to the front of the arrow. All my broadheads are 125 and have innerlocs, muzzy 4 blades, and slick tricks. Come on over and try some diffrent ideas. You can also drop you poundage down 5 pounds and see how that affects the flight. But I know you likem fast.

What vanes are you using? Have you walk back tuned your bow with field points?

the new bone collectors are not the same as the MFX...look at the GPI on them they are the same as the axis now.
