Thats weird I can see them just fine.  I hope to draw the avalanch tag some day, glad to see they finally brought it back, there is a lot of goats up there, and some hogs at that.

If anyone gets drawn let me know.  I know the area really well and I'd love to take you up.  We saw a MONSTER Billy this year, too far away to get a good picture, but he would've been an easy rifle kill as long as he didn't get up from his bedding spot.  Definitely a 10+ incher.

There were only 2, one for Avalanche Gorge and one for Chowder Ridge.  I met the guy who had the Chowder Ridge tag on the last weekend of the season and he had yet to fill his tag.  He said he was from the Peninsula and he had been up in the area hunting almost every weekend of the season but he had been very unlucky.  One weekend he had a huge billy that he just couldn't get close enough to for a shot.  He said there were three bear shot in the same area that weekend and their shots kept spooking the billy.  Another weekend he as up hunting and there was a helicopter getting a body out of the area so he didn't see any goats.  He was on his way up the ridge in a lot of snow without snowshoes.  He was planning to spend the weekend camped up there.  I never did hear how he did, but I did see a herd of about 60 goat in the same area two weekends later when I was back country skiing, so it is possible he got a shot off on one of them.  I never did hear about the Avalanche Gorge tag.  It was during season when I took these pictures and I didn't see anyone up there hunting.  But who knows.   :dunno:

Thats right I was thinking the gave 2 and 2, but it was only 2 total.  Hopefully he ended up being successful.  Have you shot many bears up in that direction, up high?

No that pic is of my first!  I've been hunting bear for three years now.  Missed one each of the first two years  and finally shot this one at 6 yards this September.  It was a bit spooky having a bear stand up 6 yards down the trail before the sun was even up (although it was legal shooting hours.)

Those goats were a little under 4 miles from Artist Point.  The big billy I was talking about was another half mile farther than that.

Great pics of truly a wonderful animal.  Been on a couple hunts for them, we shot two, but was in the assistance of my buddies goats and their not residing on my wall....  Damn, I hate drawing straws on a three person hunt......  One of the coolest animals out there in my opinion....  I'll get mine one day......  Hey maybe , I'll draw here in Washington on my first application!  I once saw flying monkeys, although it was on a movie....  Good pictures for sure.......
