Well the morning of Aug. 31 I went out scouting and saw 7 3-pt or better bucks in the hour and a half I spent in the woods. :yike:
I was thinking that this was a sign that the season would be short for my buddy (I have a multi-season tag and my buddy is archery, so he obviously gets first crack at a buck). We go out yesterday and see one legal buck, a nice 2X3 in the morning and that was it. I took off around 9:00 for work and he only saw one other legal buck all day (around 12:00). I met back up with him at 5:45 to hunt the last couple hours and only saw 7 does and saw 2 bears :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:. Of course, the gun was back at the truck and they were 125 yards away crossing the road :bash: :bash: :bash:.
Went out this morning for first light (before work again) and saw 20 does/fawns and 5 sub-legal bucks (3-pt or better unit). Hopefully he gets on them today sometime as he will be there all day. Can't wait til saturday, camping/deer hunting/elk hunting camp begins. 9 days of woods/camping/hunting. Can't wait.
