Title: Any word on the governors bull tag yet?

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything?

Probably wont. That guy took so much crap last year (I heard it's the same guy) that he'll probably keep it real quiet this year. But who knows.

That'd have to be a different Auction tag holder. There's a west side and an east side.

I met the Raffle guy last week & he's been hunting the Nooksack but I don't think he has pulled the trigger yet.

Spent an afternoon with the westside raffle guy. Real nice guy, and no, as of this morning he had not pulled the trigger.

And according to some landowners we talked to about permission....the Governors tag holder was already there asking for permission as well. Was told he paid $12,000 for it.  :dunno:

Hunt any Eastern Washington unit starting September 1? It can't go for $12K.   I think it would probably go for at least $45K.  Even that's chump change for some guys that bid for this tag.

Or that was the Westside bull tag auction price or

.The way I understand quote from BTKR is that the Auction holder apparently paid $12K for access to property..it wasn't the cost of auction tag.

I bet that was the auction tag price, but that seems cheap.

Yeah that is the way I read it too Yelp.. I heard months ago that the east side went to Agnew for $45,000. He probably paid the farmer and his scouting squad $12,000 to find it for him

No, the land owner gave permission for free. They told me the tag was $12,000 and that it went to some guy who had it the year before. There are so many auction and raffle tags anymore that it is hard to keep up.

If it's the same guide as last year guiding Mr. Agnew, it was Jon Wik's business, I don't know the name of the business though.

I love to hear about these auction tag amounts. These people are buying these tags just to get talked about. The price they are paying they could go to other states and get better quality trophies for less. I know the amount of money is chump change for them but if it is a quality animal your looking for and have all the money in the world why would you spend it in this state except for maybe Bear. Maybe they are just trying to make the Washington state record Book? :dunno:

Hunterheinz....
Did you see the 2008 bull he killed?
Tell me what other state you're going to go to and kill that kind of bull.
You've made a couple posts like this in the last couple days. Makes me wonder if you've seen the kind of bulls this state has been putting out?

Maybe they want to help the local economy and WDFW :dunno: I'm pretty sure that the tag purchasers know that they can get better tags in other states.  I'd bet that most of the tag purchasers are very successful businessmen and care about this state.

Corrected the date in my 2nd post. My 1st one was right. Sorry I ruffled your feathers and caused you to bang your head against the wall because I was 1 year off.  I guess there must really be no big elk in this state anymore, especially in the Blues...just a bunch of lousy whitetails.

Ya cause all the publicity that Agnew got was only becuase he spent the money. Had nothing to do with the friggin hog he killed. I think Forbes should do a write up. Just talk about all the money he spent. Dont even mention the kill. That part is boring anyway. I just want to read a story about Agnew and his money. After all that is all the auction tag holders want right?

What a knucklehead.

If that 08' bull is a dink then I wanna shoot a dink. Seriously...If I had the kind of money Agnew has I would probably do the same thing. Everything I have read or heard about him is nothing but good. He spends a lot of money in this state (as well as other states)...a lot of money. I don't think the Wash. State Records have anything to do with what or why he does it.

For starters.  Interfering with a legal hunt is illegal and carries a pretty stiff fine.  Regarding the record books:  where do you want to draw the line?  How about using a guide, buying a landowner tag or paying an access fee to hunt a piece of private land.   That would certainly eliminate a lot of record book animals.   There is a lot to be said by taking a trophy on a DIY hunt on public land with an OTC tag.  That to me is the ultimate trophy, but it doesn't reduce the significance of other great trophies as long as they were taken legally under "Fair Chase" conditions.  I just cannot understand the constant criticism that the "Haves" get from the "Have Nots" when it comes to going on choice, quality hunts that cost $$$ which is theres to spend however they damn well choose.  Same attitude is what's dragging this country in the shi*%er.  That's my 3 cents!!!

Spent an afternoon with the westside raffle guy. Real nice guy, and no, as of this morning he had not pulled the trigger.

And according to some landowners we talked to about permission....the Governors tag holder was already there asking for permission as well. Was told he paid $12,000 for it.  :dunno:

This is the tag holder that I was refering to in this post.
