-
remington 7600 in 3006, never could get the thing to hold a tight group but it bagged alot of deer. Still have it, I have a hard time letting any guns go.

-
red ryder bbgun, then at 5yrs old 22 single shot still have that,I use it to dispatch the critters I trap, except for skunks, bad juju shooting them..
-
Daisy BB gun when I was 3 (I think my dad wanted to play with it). Stevens 20 ga single shot and a savage model 99f .243 when I was 7 so I could practice up for my first season at 8. Loved the 99f but cussed that Stevens, I had to use both thumbs to ear back the hammer, made most of my shots on quail long shots. But dad said I had to learn how to hit with one shot before I got to carry a gun with 3.

Remington Nylon 66. I bought it with my paperboy money. The next was a Remmy 870 Wingmaster from pops for bird hunting.
-
.22 chipmunk for my 6th birthday.
-
12 gauge bolt action shotgun from Western Auto with my paper route money, still have it. Paid like $25 or $30 dollars for it.
-
Winchester Model 70 featherweight in 308... Bought it myslef when I was 12 with my harvest money. Kicked like a mule!
-
The gun I first killed deer/elk with was a spanish mauser in 7x57 that was one of my Mom's gun's. An old Lyman peep sight helped me fill my both tags the first year I hunted at age 12. The summer I turned 13 I worked at a restaurant and bought a brand spanking new Remington 700bdl in 30-06, with a leupy 6 power. 180gr core lokts killed a lot of animals for me with that gun.
-
I got a .22 Remington Speedmaster 552 when I was 5. My Dad bought it from a neighbor for $50. Its value is way up there from what I have read.
Dad told me that if I passed hunters Ed when I was 9, he would buy me a gun. I passed and he bought me an H&R single shot .410 Killed a lot of grouse with that gun. :)
-
Winchester Model 12 that my dad gave me was the first official one given to me. My uncle and another friend of my dad handed over Thompson and Remington muzzleloader to my brother and I as well. They don't have boy's and their girl's aren't interested so it's worked out alright. Made it easy for them get new ones :)
-
Crossman air rifle when i was 6 then a ruger 10/22 when i turned 8
-
Red rider when I was 5 or 6, Ruger M77 in .257 Roberts at 13. Dad still has the rifle hope to let my son use it when he gets old enough.
-
Daisy BB gun at 4 or 5, then a Sears single shot 22 at about 7 or 8. I still have them both, and that 22 is affectionately call plinker because it is the most accurate rifle out to 50 yards that is at camp!
-
Got a Marlin .22 rifle for my 10th birthday, bought a Savage 99c .308 when I was 11 with my paper route/lawn mowing money.
-
Ruger Mark I, .22 LR. Still have it after 30 years. Still one of the most fun to plink with.
-
my 7mm08 I bought last year.
-
Christmas, 2nd Grade 1965, a Crossman M1 BB "thrower" you could see'em fly across the yard :chuckle:
Christmas, 3rd Grade, 1966 a Sears & Roebuck .22 single shot bolt action, stolen in a Burglary 18 months >:( later.
My Dad was about 36 or 37 at the time. *censored*s took the .22 his Dad gave him when he was 10. >:( >:(
He had spent hours and hours hand rubbing Linseed oil into the stock months before it was stolen...
Christmas 4th Grade another Sears .22, 7 round mag and Scope. Dad bought it pretty quick after the first one got stolen but kept in his locker at work and zeroed/plinked on the Company Range till Xmas...
-
Ruger M77 30/06. I have killed lots of game with it and still own it. I havent hunted with it much lately, but I'm sure I will again someday.
-
Ithaca model 37 featherlite 12 ga, bought it at a pawn shop for $150 used it for almost 20 yrs
-
an old Stevens .22 "carnival gun" had a very short stock on it so it could be used by all kinds of people, still sits in the safe
-
Like Rasbo, a Daisy Red Rider. Lots of critters at my grandparents house went down to that one. Then my Grandpa gave me his Marlin single shot .22 he bought from a mail order outfit in the 30's for $10.25. PLUS shipping... between the two of us, we had actually worn out the firing pin and extractor claw... she don't fire every time, and when she does, you take the shell out with your jacknife. Say, anybody know a good reputable gunsmith up around Everett area? :chuckle:
-
Winchester model 12 20ga. It was my Dads first shotgun.
-
H&R combo single shot 20 guage / 30-30. Ignorance and immaturity allowed me to part with this gun... shoulda', woulda', coulda'... :'(
-
:yeah: My brother traded our Grandfathers model 12 16ga that he carried in his patrole car as a patrolmen/police chief. Boy do I want that shotgun back. We lost grandpa 10 years ago and would sure like to have that gun.

My Dad would still be kicking my ass. I still have Grandpa's Savage 219 30-30 with a spare model 220 20ga bbl for it. Grandpa bought it sometime around 1940..
-
chipmunk 22lr that I still have. I cant remember what was next man im getting a bad memory:chuckle:
-
20 ga, single shot H&R shotgun. Shot my first grouse, quail and duck with it. Moved up to a 12 ga pump as soon as I was old enough to get a job and earn the money to buy one.
First rifle was a 30-30 Model 94 Winchester lever action. Shot my first two deer with that. Bought a .270 bolt action the same year I bought my first 12 ga.
-
sears and roebuck 30-30
-
I always had one available to me so I never bought any when I was younger. First gun that I actually legally owned was a nickel Taurus model 66 with 6" barrel. Did my first trigger job on that one. Was a SWEET shooter. I then bought a Marlin 30AS. Now called Mr. Lucky. It has 9 notches carved in the sling for the deer it's harvested. Over the years I picked up several others and sort of inherited about 30 at one time. In keeping what I wanted and letting some of the others go, I let that Taurus go to a friend. One of the biggest regrets I'll ever have. I know he won't sell it to someone else. But I know I'll probably never get it back. No, it's not a Python or a rare gun, but I did/do love that particular light framed revolver.

-
single shot stevens 22 bolt action that my dad cut down the barrel and stock when i 4 yrs old.
-
Daisy BB gun at 6-7, Granddad gave me a Hercules .410 when I was 11,, I saved my lawnmowing money for a Winchester 94 in .32 Winchester Special at 14 to go hunt deer with (matched Granddad's Marlin 1893 and Dad's Winchester 94) and I bought a Ruger MkI .22 from a Friend's dad when i was 16.
Lots of water under the bridge since then...but i still have everything but the BB gun...one of my little brothers accidently dropped that overboard one summer afternoon.
-
Remington 1100 LT 20ga with a 28" modified choke barrel. Got it for Christmas when I was 11 years old (30+ years ago) Still my favorite gun.
-
1969 Remington mod 550.
Sitting in the safe right now.
-
Mine was a old WWII Chilean 7MM Mauser that my Dad bought for me when I was eight years old. He bought it at Ernst Hardware when back in the day (1964) they had them in 55Gal barrels in the sporting goods section and you picked out the one you wanted. He put a Williams peep site on it for me and I took my first four deer with that gun. It sure was a ugly club, but I thought that it was beautiful!!
-
Had a pellet gun, and a gun "issued" to me by my Dad (Stevens 20ga single), but my first personal gun took me well over a year to earn and purchase on my own. I was 11 years old. I still have it, still in good to excellent condition, and it's got an honored position in my safe. It's a Beretta S686 Special O/U. 12ga, 30" barrels, F/M, fully engraved reciever, trigger guard, and opening lever. Stainless reciever, gold plated trigger. I hunted birds with it non-stop for probably 20 years, then semi-retired it. Nobody bought it for me, and I spent my last dime on it when I bought it! It's doubled in value, but it's worth 100X that to me now... Still love that gun!
-
Red rider at 5 or 6, then a crossman pupmaster at 7 or 8, then a marlin semi auto at 10 or 11 then a ruger m77 270 win at 15. Still have all the guns to this day
-
.410 shotgun ;)
-
A Remington .222 when I was about 7 or so.
-
Had the lil pump BB gun. I harassed the cats pretty good with that. First rifle i had was a 30 30. I think i was 10 at the time? hard to remember. Turned out to be to much of kick for me at the time so my dad got me a 243 savage. Still used the Savage for deer. The 30 30 is used primarily as a coyote slayer.
-
Technically, a Crossman 760 .177 caliber BB/Pellet Rifle.
Firearm: Lakefield (Savage) Mark-IY 22LR
-
Remington semi-auto .308, given to me by my grandfather at 12. First one I bought was a 1963 Rem Wingmaster 12 ga, traded it for my x-country skis to my mom and $50 to my dad, I was 14. Still have it and often use it.
-
my first was a rem 700 7mm mag. still hunt w/ it love it.
-
crossman 760 then got a remington .22 and then a wichester 30 30 for hunting
-
I saved one summer and my dad bought me a Remington Sporstman 12pump(8700 12 guage. That gun has seen 7 or 8 thousand rounds between trap shooting, grouse hunting and deer hunting. It has taken many grouse and 5 deer. A year later, I got a marlin 30-30 from my Grandpa. I still have both today and will never get rid of them.
-
Mossberg 500A for me
-
Savage model 24 .223/20 gauge, still have it
-
Ruger 10/22. I was 11 yrs old. Actually my first was Daisy Red Ryder
-
My dad's old Win 30-30
-
Marlin 30-30 that my Uncle gave me when I was 8. I still ahve it and have shot a bunch of critters with it. I'm going to replace the stock and give it to my daughter.
-
Marlin Model 60, black synthetc and blued.
Got it for christmas from my father (mother didn't know until I unwrapped it!). :chuckle:
She cussed at him all day for it.
Then he cussed all the following day because the first time we tried shooting it, it jammed every darn shot!
Got a thorough cleaning and lubrication lesson after that. I can't honestly remember a single malfunction since then. I don't shoot it much but maybe one or two outings a year, now. Boy, those microgroove marlins can shoot!

That describes my first mini bike....Dad bought it while Mom and me were at my Uncles farm for two weeks... :chuckle: :chuckle:

In '72 my grandfather gave me his .22 rifle, not sure what brand it is. He lived in Virginia and we visited him when I was six. The next summer we came out for his funeral. About the only memory I have of him is the two of us sitting on his front porch and shooting Pabst Blue Ribbon cans with that gun. Needless to say, that .22 will always be in my collection. It was pretty warn with some electrical tape supporting the old stock and a stuck rod in the magazine. I have thought about taking it to a gunsmith for a refurbish job, but then it wouldn't look the same.
-
Had bb and pelet rifles early on. My grampa gave me a Marlin singlshot bolt action 22when I was 7, I saved up lawn mowing money the summer when I was 9 and my dad bought a marlin bolt avton 22 with a 7 shot clip. Grampa gave me a savage/steevens bolt acton 3030 for my first deer rifle when I was 12 or 13. Parents gave me a remington 700 bdl in 7rem mag for Christmas when I was 14, I still hunt with that 7 mag.
-
I don't remember this, but according to my mom, my first gun was the crust of my PBJ sandwich when I was two. This was a bit disappointing for an anti-gun, former Greenwich Village loft-living hippie chick :chuckle: She once told me her biggest disappointment in me as her child was when I bought a gun and shot an animal. Still gotta love yer mom.
-
30-30 Marlin Lever Action, given to me by my grandpa after I passed Hunters Ed when I was 12. He got it as a 1st anniversary gift from my grandma so its about 50-60 years old.
Shoots awesome, I have killed 5 deer with it.
-
She once told me her biggest disappointment in me as her child was when I bought a gun and shot an animal. Still gotta love yer mom.
My Mom gives me grief too. "How can you shoot those deer? They're so pretty" She'll say that as she's cutting a Pork Chop or carving a Roast. Guess it's OK with her to kill and eat ugly animals only? :dunno:

Must be Mike. I never got grief for ripping a sharp piece of metal through a fish's face and carving its meat off its bones.
-
:yeah: :chuckle: :chuckle:
When I was 7 or 8 we were Fishing and I asked Mom if fish felt pain (I was thinking they did) She flipped like I dropped the F bomb....NO ! THEY DONT! Mike How dare you... :chuckle:
-
Various bb guns but the first was a single shot 22 that went back to my grandfather when I bought a Ruger 10/22 and then for my 12 b/day in 1977 I got a Ruger M77 270 with a 6x Redfield scope. Bought and sold many guns since then but still have both those. ;)
-
Daisy BB gun when I was 6 or 8, I don't remember. Got my Marlin .22 for Christmas when I was 12 and went out rabbit hunting that afternoon.
-
Remington Single Shot .22. My older brother had a Winchester Single Shot .22. Used them to hunt blue grouse in Colorado when they were really plentiful, while my Dad scouted for Elk. Hunting grouse in the high country among the golden Aspen trees is hard to beat! Shot one in the head one time when I was 14 and ran up to retrieve him. Suddenly he flushed at my feet and flew out of sight. Must have just grazed him! :P
-
On my 14th Birthday my Uncle presented me with an absolutely beautiful Winchester model 64 in 25-35. He had it restocked with Fiddleback maple but also gave me the original wood with it too. Also included were 20 boxes of Winchester 117gr FP ammunition.
Kilt my first deer with that rifle and a boatload of grouse. Still have it and will never part with it.

Daisey Red Rider then a Daisey pump pellet rifle. For first "big boy" guns was a Ithaca 20ga then a .30-06 sold through sears. I still don'y know who actually made though. It was a tough rifle and brought down my first deer. I cried when I had to sell it. :'(
-
my first gun was a ruger m77 .243. excellent little gun. Got it for my 9th birthday, and still using it today :IBCOOL:

Besides some BB guns..
For Christmas from my Dad.. Model 70 Featherweight 30-06 w/ 3-9 VX-II when I was 12. He had the floor plate engraved with my initials also. Best Christmas I've ever had. One of the rifles that I've killed a Blacktail, Whitetail, and Mule Deer with. Kind of the Washington Deer "Slam"..
-
Marlin M-39 lever action .22 LR for Christmas and 6 months later for my Birthday Ithica M-37 Featherlight 16 Gauge. Grandpa told me if I shot a critter I had to eat it. Didn't take it him seriously................never killed another TOAD or CHIPMUNK again.
-
First was a Crosman 2100 bb/pellet rifle when I was about 5. I could have filled a pickup with the sparrows and starlings I killed with that thing.
First "real" gun was a Marlin 336 30-30 my dad gave me when I was 9. Shot and killed my first elk with it about 2 months after I finished hunters safety, had just turned 10.
First gun I bought was a Winchester Model 70 Featherweight .270 Win with my income tax return from my first job. Day I turned 18 I went to Big 5 and picked it out.
-
My first hunting rifle was a Win 88 .308, some ass broke into our house when I was 14 and stole it. :bash:
-
BB Gun first, first "real" gun was a H&R 410 that I shot a PILE of dove with....that was at 9...then later that year my dad gave me his Win 94 30-30 while he stepped up to a Big Bore 94 375... I also got a 20 ga/22 combo that year from an uncle and then at 11 my dad gave me a Stevens side by side 20... I still have all those guns... At 14 I bought a Rem 721 30-06 from my dads buddy....shot that till 4 yrs ago when I got my Browning A Bolt 06'...
Haven't got rid of a gun yet... there are 5 or 6 I didn't mention that were mixed up in there somewheres!! :tung:
-
Old winchester 22 bolt action (single shot) that was my grand father's, passed on to my dad, then passed on to me....I will pass it on to my son, he turns 5 tomorrow
-
Mine was a sporterized Springfield 1903.
-
remington 870 youth 20 gauge, dad cut the stock down to fit me at 7 years old. Gun has killed ducks, geese, snakes, pheasants, quail, and hopefully more to come.
-
mine was a Savage bolt action 20 guage. Must have weighed 10 lbs. Took many limits of dove in central california.
-
Mossberg 20 gauge.
-
Revolution .410 pump with full choke when I was 10y/o. Still have it. Its almost 30y/o now. It killed a many pheasants, quail, squirrels, rabbits and a few geese/ducks when I was a kid. :)
-
my own first gun was a remmington 870 12 gauge and i got it 2 years ago. (im only 15) :IBCOOL:
-
Charter Arms AR7, got it in '85. Still have it and my kids are using it occasionally.
-
Penndy How did you like that Charter Arms brand. My friend just bought one in .308 so far he likes it.
-
I love it. Never owned a charter arms for anything else but they have been around for a while. On the ar-7 I haven't had to replace anything on it in 25 years and it has had a few thousand rounds through it. Interesting thing about the ar-7 is that Eugene Stoner designed it in the 60s and it is still in production today. Back to the question on the Charter Arms brand, simply put I would buy the stuff again. Hope your friend enjoys his .308, it is a good all around caliber.
-
H & R Topper model with .30-.30 and 20 gauge barells. Still have it.
-
Savage 110 30.06 with a 4x scope on it. i traded it for another gun a few years back and have severely regretted it. now i will neither trade nor sell any guns.
-
addicted I still have my Savage 110 .30-06. It is the only deer rifle I have now (Yes I want more). The rifle was a gift from my stepdad and I just love it. I put a 3x9 scope on it and have people wanting to trade or buy it from me. Not a chance LOL...
-
First firearm, a H&R Sahara 22 singleshot, a slide action singleshot. Got it when I was 7 or so. When I turned 9 it was replaced with a 10/22. Still have both of them, they both shot extremely well (I lucked out with that 10/22, the original barrel shoots as nice as my target 10/22 barrels)! Though being light, they are very finicky unless off bags. First big rifle, a REM 600 in 308. Wife took a moose with it last year. That 308 has hunted the whole world (previous owner used it in africa, alaska, and other locations before he passed away). When I carry that rifle, I feel like the good juju is still in it, things happen when I have that in my hands!
