Title: estrogen
Post by: CoryTDF on September 11, 2010, 06:18:30 AM
Shot I shot my first doe with my bow last night. She was a nice big dry doe and she is hanging in the cooler as I write this. This year is so full of estrogen I am getting scared. My 2nd baby is due on the 27th. It's a girl. My new dog..... a girl......the elk I shot and lost..girl....and now my deer. I need to have like a viking theme party or something. I'm out numbed. In all seriousness it was a great hunt. Little trouble with the blood as she crossed the creek several times befor we got her. I am blessed to have a wife who will stay home and care for our 2 year old while she is 8.5 months preggers so daddy can go hunting. This is the first year I really have had issues with leaving to go hunting. My daughter would grab her little yellow squirt gun and follow me out to my truck '' daddy I go huntin wit you. I kill a big buck. Wit my gun." It was so cute and really hard to believe that at 2 years old she already knows what i'm doing. i can't wait to take her hunting. my deer season is over 4 now and i have meat in the freezer. i did draw that second tag so we shall see. As for the estrogen issue i guess ill just have to adapt. Tonight we dine on tenderloin, I'm cooking,  I think it's to late they have me trained.

I do most of the red meat cooking here, though I have a 7 year old boy to help balance the other estrogen in the house (wife, daughter, dog, and 23 hen chickens, not in the house  :chuckle:  ).

Now you have time to take the 2 year old out on an age appropriate "hunt", squirtgun and all.

Have fun and congratulations on the doe.

Congratulations on your success both at home and in the field. I will be heading to Elk Camp tommorrow after work. I just need to verify the location with you. Is it at the same place at last year? I cant seem to get a hold of anyone at Camp.

Congrats!!!!  Pretty risky at 8.5 months prego.  I thought I was going to get out do some archery elk hunting this last week.  My wife WAS 7.5 months pregnant...WAS is the key word.  Wednesday, my wife's water broke, and our Twin's were born!  Now I'm following everyone's hunting trips from Children's Hospital (my baby girl) and Evergreen Hospital (my baby boy).
Man, I used to think those lil' eastside spike's were cute, until I met my new babies.
