I am in the market for a couple dozen Gold Tip arrows. I havent had to buy any for several years. I use to get them from Mountain Archery. I was wondering if any of you folks have a favorite place with decent prices and service where you get or order custom built arrows. I have always had good luck with M.A. but am always looking at new places as well.
Thanks

By saying custom arrows, you mean getting a bare shaft with the correct spine and built how you want them? The best prices for arrows I have found is at the sportsmans warehouse but it isn't that much of a price difference and they aren't custom built. Pro shops always have a bit of a mark up.

sportsmans wont do custom fletching which is a downfall for them... so if you go there to buy your arrows you will have to choose from pre-fletched shafts and colors. Unless you buy bare shafts and then fletch them yourself. If you want true custom shafts visit your local pro shop. just my 2 cents...

I've ordered arrows custom built on the Net a lot. They were all simply massed produced and it showed. Uneven length of the Vanes from the end of the shaft. If you want Quality arrows buy a Bitzenberger Jig and build them yourself!!! Buy some cheap shafts and vanes to start until you get the hang of it. It's really not that hard. I purchase my shafts and Archery supplies here. Good Luck

I agree, do it yourself, it not only gives you quality it also gives you the opportunity to get creative and try new things. To me anything i can do myself just adds another element to the sport.
I too buy supplies from FS Discount Archery, up until the last 2 orders they have been great. I ordered items 2 different times this year and both orders were put on backorder without any notification from them. I'm hoping this was just a fluke because they have been a very reliable supplier up till now?

Fletch your own. I buy all my stuff from Mountain Archery. Super fast delivery, great price, and always seem to have everything.

I was in the market for GT Prohunters 75/95. i found them for 88 bucks raw shaft. I do my own work on arrows and that was the cheapest price I could find.

I have a bitzenburger jig and have done my own arrows, but if I go to a pro shop to buy my arrows I usually buy the bare shaft have it cut to the length that I want then buy they fletching for them and let the guy at the pro shop do it on his five or six bitzenburgers he has. He usually doesn't charge you for fletching the arrows and if he does it is minimal. It is faster for him to do it with six and saves you sixty or more dollars of having to buy a jig yourself.

I've ordered several things from Lancaster Archery with good luck. They do made to order Gold Tip XT Hunters for $75. I shoot FOB's now, so I don't have to do any fletching anymore. I do agree with the others to start fletching your own arrows: it's easy, fun and rewarding. Good Luck!

Not sure if he does custome arrrows or not but their is a shop called Fletch Setters in your area. He was talking about moving his shop into town (Rainier). He may or may not have moved already. Trying to remember where he is. He has a small sign on 507.
