I came accross this moose while bear hunting. About an hour after watching the moose I shot a bear. Sunday was a great day.
-
  Awesome pics!!
-
I wish I could take credit for the great photos but my buddy and fellow member (DBZona) that was with me at the time took the pictures. He has a very nice camera.
-
nice pictures, congrats on the bear... ;)
-
Very nice! That's what I will be looking for in Three Forks.
-
It's already hard enough to get some sleep, tossing and turning dreaming about moose and my upcoming hunt. Then you post a pic like that...? HOLY $#(*&*&&#^$*(@@@)! I call dibs!
-
Sorry. Don't mean for you to lose sleep over. Just thought I would get the heart racing. haha.
-
If you don't mind sharing, what unit were you in?
-
great moose - congrats on the bear. I took pictures Saturday with the 35 mm of a nice bull moose, but doesn't hold a chance against this monster.
-
Thats an awesome bull. Pushing 50" I think.
-
Wow - those things are big and beautiful :yike:.....and tasty too I bet.
Good luck to those with tags this year!
-
He very well could be 50''. I was guessing 45" give or take a few.
-
That's here in Washington? Holy chit batman!
-Steve
-
wow Im going to put that on the ceiling thats awesome...dreaming bout that
-
Its a 50" min in the area I'm hunting in AK or 4 brow tines. I would let him go, just to close to call. i would say 48" but maybe 50"
Crazy nice bull for WA!
-
Those Pics Suck!!! :chuckle: Can we see pics of the bear? :chuckle:
-
real funny DBZona.
-
He is very close to 50 for sure, but yeah if he was in AK it would be to close to call. Damn nice Moose, you should let a tag holder for that unit know where he is if you know one. Judging from his bell, he may also not be a terribly old bull, and looking at his tines. He could be a bull that turns into a absolute gagger!
-
Yeah, I don't know how to judge the age of a moose. Another thing that impressed me was the size of his body as well. What do you look for when trying to age a moose on the hoof. What is the "bell"
-
Holy Bull! If that's in the 49DN I'll trade you one of my kids for the location :chuckle: Thanks for the motivation, not that I needed any more.

The bell is the beard thing that looks like a bell that hangs off his neck.
-
I think we got ourselves a honeyhole for when we draw someday! I gotta get me one of them monster whities up there this fall.. But neway...Wow, thats moose is as big as a wooly mammoth!!!!!! hahahahaha :mgun:
-
Sweet! I'd like to see the bear too...
-
holy crap! nice pics and congrats on the bear
-
Thats a stud wa moose  Nice pics
-
I am printing that pic and taping it to the visor of my truck - just to keep me grounded on a great bull. Heading to mt spokane this friday to find his grandpa....
That is a fantastic bull
-
Anyone in Washington NOT going to shoot that Bull is outright nuts. Figure if it is a WA Moose between the antlers is about 6-7 inches at best. I would figure a Shiras Moose at that low end as alot of AK Moose range between 8-10. My 58" inch AK Moose is 8.5 between and it was a about four years old. So for arguments sake- lets say were conservative on this and go with 6 inches between. That is at least a 48" Bull, if it is 7, well you do the math it is over 50" trust me. Pop it and get to skinning cause it is a pig and will look good on the wall.... Tmike please tell me you'll tag this one...... Having gotten several Moose in AK, I honestly didn't believe folks when they were saying 50" for a Shiras, but this picture is worth it's weight for sure... Made me a believer! I was wrong when I discounted (privately) what I was reading and hearing.
-
I don't know where that one is, but one anywhere near to it would be a dream.
-
Here's my Washington bull 43". That bull is 50" at least, shoot it opening day.

With my feeble attempt at judging the width of that bull with a bunch of time to stare at a photo and giving him 10" between the outsides of his eyes I am putting him at 52" wide.
-
I sure wish I had the tag for that big boy. I know right where he is. One day I will have the tag. Till then the only shooting i am doing is with a camera.
