Title: Clemans ram
Post by: dobby on September 16, 2010, 05:11:23 PM
Fun hunt shot him opening afternoon

Rough scored him and he’s around 165 gross and guessing he’s gonna end up in the high 150s

It took a few years off my life watching this ram after my uncle shot him, he ran to the top of a rock slide and rolled about 300 hundred yards to the bottom, banged up his horns pretty bad and busted off one tip it was a real buzz kill to the situation but he’s a good ram with good mass and he’s happy with him so all went well

Congrats to the hunter, nice ram.  But lemme see if I got this straight Dobby.  I believe, if I recall correct, that you are the guy who drew a Moose, Goat and a premium bull elk tag all in the same year, last year correct?  And then the very next year your Uncle draws a sheep tag?  What you guys doing slipping an extra benjamin in with your applications?   :chuckle: :chuckle:

How many shots did it take to bring him down. In the picture, it looks like a gut shot but then again, that could be the exit wound and he was standing at an angle or something. Either way, nice work!!

Just an idea to run by you - but I wonder if a taxidermist could cut some horn off of a ram (like mine pictured here) and then attach them to the big horn. Then color them up. I'll bet is could be done with a little finesse. Of course, my buddy Chester would not just sit there and let me cut on his horns. I might get rammed for it  :chuckle:
