i have a 5 pin spott hogg sight. i was thinking about putting a hogg wrap on my sight. any one try one of these. wondering if it was worth it and if it made the pins brighter. thanks

day and night difference

It's a must in my opinion!

I have the Spott Hogg Right on sight w/ wrap on my DXT its really bright and makes a huge difference..
-
For sure worth the money. I would say that without the wrap spot hogg fibers aren't bright at all. easy to mount as well.
-
I love the spot hogg. Tuff sight and the wrap makes it even better

X2 This is the first year i used the wrap and it makes alot of difference

Just do it!! ;)

I hunt quite a bit in west side dark timber and the wrap really makes a huge difference. My buddy doesn't have a Spott-Hogg and no wrap at all on his bow and he can't see his pins much sooner in the evening than I am able to.

I am ordering one off of Obsession Archery.com for something like $61. Everyone else wants $70 for them. I saw one on a bow for the first time the other day and compared it side by side to my Spot Hogg without it and the difference was well worth converting over!!!!

Has anyone tried the .010 pins? I have the .019 but was wondering about the bigger ones. Not to jack this tread or anything.

Not trying to be a smart ass but .019 is bigger than .010. I have an Apex 4 pin sight that has .019 for the top 2 pins and .01 for the bottom 2. The smaller pins are nice for target at the longer distances but for hunting I prefer the bigger pins as they are a little brighter.

Oops now I feel like and idiot! And I have a degree in Industrial Maintence. Brain fart, d-oh! I went and ordered the .019 anyway.

I got the 7 deadly pins on my spotthogg for 3 seasons now and they work really well, they are great for lowlight and protects your fiber obtic while walking around the woods. they are worth the money i think.

I too have the SDP. The wrap is bright. I wish I would have ordered with .010 bottom 3 pins. In the summer or shooting in full sunlight I find that putting some black vinyl tape around it really helps with long range practice.
Also for a sight in this price range would it be too much to use quality stainless hardware? I hate how they rust...

There is a huge difference in my opinion. :twocents: It made the the difference in getting my elk this year. because they are that much brighter. the other thing I like about it, it makes it a wider sight and protects your fiber optics on your pins. My son has the 5 pin and he has had problems with twigs hitting the fibers and pulling them out. :bash:

The .010 pins by spott hogg are extremely brittle .
-
I put one on both my bows. It gives your pins a little extra protection too.

The Hogg Wrap is an absolute must. I bought the SDP a few years ago and went to Montana where we were getting after it every day (REALLY long days). I busted ALL of the fiber optics out of the sight and ended up down in town part way through one of the days to get new fiber optics. When I got home I promptly ordered the Hogg Wrap and it hasn't happened again.
Before I went to Montana I happened to be in Boise and went to Cabelas. Cameron Hanes was in there (just a coincidence) signing books and had his bow there. I was there right when they opened and hardly anyone was there yet so I got to spend a couple of minutes bs'ing him. He had the Hogg Wrap and said that without it you'll bust off the fiber optics. I should've listened and bought it before I went on my hunt.
It makes the pins much brighter, as well.
