Hey everyone, its been quite awhile since ive been on the site. I moved to San Angelo TX about 2 months ago working for a company as a hunting guide. Its been a blast so far, and quite an experience. I have had the chance to guide everything from whitetail to zebra. Its definitely been an eye opener of the idea of high fence. The company i work for leases 14 properties the smallest one being 17,000 acres, and the largest being 88,000 acres. 2 of which are high fence. Ill tell you the african exotics have been an absolute blast to guide. Its pretty wild how hard it is to find the animals on these huge properties. It took me 4 days to even find a wildebeest for a costomer, and there are 377 of them on the 35,000 acre property. For one of the properties i am able to personally hunt hogs on. I have been hunting them every chance i have had for the last 3 weeks and havent had much luck finding them in this crazy heat. Well i finally got on them tonight after finding them last night. I got on them today and harvested 2. one is a big boar at 202 lbs and the other is a 135 lbs boar.

wow ! good job ! just make sure they are cut, wrapped and frozen before you bring them up here ! again, nicely done!
-
Believe me they will. We already have enough issues with animals being introduced in washington

That top one is a good looking Boar. They both are. Are those a mix with Russian Boar? They do not look like true Russians.
-
You know im not to sure i thought they were russian but i could be wrong ill have to do a little research. Russian boar or not im sure they are just as smelly.
-
Those are some great looking hogs. Congrats youhave a great deal going on there...
-
Thanks Hunt, its been a hell of an experience and a good time
-
They look like Russians as far as facial and body structure so i am assuming they are either pure or have very little domestic in them.
On a Russian Boar if you measure from the front of the nose to the back of the whet, back of the whet to the front corner of the eye, from the front corner of the eye to the "V" at the beginning of the ear canal, and from the "V" to the tip of the nose, all 4 measurements should be pretty close if not spot on the same measurement.
On true Russians the top of there head to the nose should be pretty flat. The more domestic they have in them the more scooped there face will be.
I have mounted a lot of Wild Boar, domestic, mixed, and true Russian.
