My father and I are heading over next week for a 10 day moose hunt and I was just curious if any one has been finding any bullwinkles. We have been scouting , but have not seen a whole lot yet.
-
They should start coming into calls anytime. I was out last thursday elk hunting and saw a decent one pushing a cow around in the huckleberry unit. Wont be long!

Check the wetlands off the beaten bath. I have seen them hanging around/near/in them every time I am up there.

+1, The rut should be on anyday if not already.

Pix was taken in GMU 111. It's a little grainy - I had to lighten it up as we took it at the butt crack of dawn!! Hubby & I didn't get a bear but watching this guy walk in was worth getting up at 0430!!
He also ravaged a bush with his whole head for about 10 seconds!! WTH, then a neighbor told us this is their early rut. ??? don't know about that but it was pretty comical to watch.

Oh yeah, forgot to say - pic taken this last saturday (9/25)
