bought some denali boots, this protectant was recommended to me by a cabelas store rep, and i have been using this protectant. just noticed that cabelas had crossed out goretex approved on the back of the container. four applications so far. anybody have any info good or bad on this prodect. worried now about my gore-tex.

I've had great success with the stuff. I've used it exclusively on my boots and they are gore-tex.

That's the only preservative I use. Have used it many years on numerous pair of gore-tex boots and have never had a problem. I prefer the Heavy Duty LP, as it seems to repel water better than the liquid type. Even Kenetrek has switched to what I am assuming is Obenaufs with their name on it. Glad to see that they recommend it, as their previous nixwax wasn't cutting it.

Good to know, because despite my concern, it really seems to work well. was just worried after noticing that the "gore-tex approved" on the container was blacked out with a marker. these boots are expensive.

Only protectant I have ever used on my regular cow hide boots, Redwings. Love the stuff. Keep us informed on how it performs on goretex.

I used it for 3 years on my ak hunters and never had a bit of trouble, I have used it for 18 months on my denali's and I have cracked (minor) leather......odd because I hunted the same areas and used similar care. I am now using it on my new perfekts and mountain hunters.
