You want members on this forum to share their information with you and then you will share what you have . . . Your kidding right. How about going into the intro thread and introducing yourself and contribute a little to the site before telling people to share their info with you.

Sure, I'll trade you grid coordinates.  I know where there is a 200" bull elk down by me here in the Blues, General Season.  All you have to do is draw the tag.  (I can post pictures if you need them).

OK, your turn.  Where do I find a 200" Muley in Okanogan (General Season)?

Sorry Andy.  We are just teasing you.  Seriously, go to the Introduction Thread, tell us a little about yourself and start getting to know some people.  Post some pictures and stories of past hunts.  We all love that stuff and it will give people a chance to get to know you.

I live in the 101 unit and will share any info with all of you hunters. I hunt everyday, yes everyday. Whatever is in season.
Coyotes are my favorite. I'm honest and am not full of sh!t. I love this sport.
The only thing is, I've been having trouble uploading pictures on this site. I think they exceed the max allowed.
Anyhow, PM me if you want straight forward answers.

not familiar with the name sweat creek, where is that i might be able to help, people from other places use different names for places than the locals, if you know what i mean.
Title: Re: okanogan county 204

I live 2 miles south of Curlew.
Sweat Creek is off of hwy 20 west of Republic about 10-15 miles, just a guess. Not a hunt for kids. It's a trail from the campground w/toilets.
The deer so far this year have been pretty sparse. Seen allot of bucks but no monsters, yet.
Allot of bear have been taken from what the game warden told me today. I've seen 4 and my wife has seen 7.
I've been hunting/called bears since the season opened...........no luck.
I was told the local game cutter up guy, which I know, has 12 bears in. That's what his wife told me last Thursday.?
The weather has been from 32-75 dergrees with rain right now.
Hope this helps. I've been here 10 years and HUNT all the time.

I'm sure Terry from Hang 'em High will process your bear meat. He just opened that up on Barret Creek. He's done a Bobcat and Bear for me. Taxidermy that is......

The bears never went up high, berries just never ripened for them, alot stayed low and local.
Do you kniow if anyone got the "porch sleeping" Bear that was hanging around, say west of curlew about 6 or 8 miles?

6-8 miles west of Curlew. Hmmmmmmmm. Hadn't heard of that one. My Border Patrol buddy lives out that way. I'm sure he would of shot it or let me. I'll ask around because we get allot of stories here. Do you know if it was near Tonata Creek Rd ?

We used to hunt around Curlew every year. I got my first deer up Long Alec Creek. Love the area, but the deer population seems to be down from years past.
Title: Re: okanogan county 204
Post by: CAMPMEAT on September 23, 2010, 09:18:01 PM
The deer population seems to be growing actually. We have allot more muleys now than when I first moved here.
Whitetails, well, they're always in the fields mooching for feed. I live up Tonasket Creek right south of Long Alec.
I've always got deer here screwing around and making my Rotts bark.

Its been 3 years since we hunted over there. I think the only thing keeping us from coming back over this year is my available vacation days and the price of fuel.... :bash:

I know most of the landowners hate all deer if they're raising cattle. Kill all the coyoyes too.
I went out today and saw about 20 muley does. No bucks. The weather is getting cooler also.
I went up Vulcan all the way around the face to the dead end sign. Saw 2 rigs hunting.

We went in September (birds and scouting). We located some deer. All small (no good! We normally see some excellent bucks at this time). The bow hunters lasted about (2) days before they called it and left. We will see how it goes. There are some great bucks in 204, like anywere else, gotta wear your boots out.

two weeks and I will be back up scouting for the late whitetail hunt. I won't hunt the area until Nov. My buddy and I hunt hard, we put on the miles and get away from the roads and we look to shoot mature animals. So any and all info that I see on this unit is appreciated.  campmeat if you know some farmer/ranchers that want to have the whitetail thinned down a little let me know I might be able to help.

Andy, if my attachment worked is this you  :dunno:? Got this picture last fall on our property in unit 204. He had no permission from us but who knows what the neighbor said, (seems she lets just about everyone hunt our place) but I would like to talk to him and find a bit about him. Having just rebuilt our cabin, I did not get pics of him this year. The cams are working overtime but the bucks seem a bit smaller this year. I really suspect younger deer, as we have seen bigger ones the last few years.

Where on Mt. Hull did you get your deer? We have hunted over there for a few years but only shot one mule deer, mostly whitetails where we are at. We see mule deer each year (does, spikes and forkies) but the big ones do not show up until November seems like. A buddy of mine used to have some acerage above Mosquito Creek but below the national forest. Good luck.

Actully, someone just put in a small RV park about 1 mile from the Wauconda store. I know of one NFS campground east of Wauconda about
5 miles maybe. It's in the 101 unit but 204 is right across hwy 20. You can go allday long from the campground. Sweat Creek I believe is the name of it. Small but has toilets at least.

Will be headed that way in three more get ups. Get to go to work for two of those days  :'(, but then its on  :IBCOOL:. Can not wait, we built a new cabin and will have several folks in camp. My Dad will be hunting with us for the first time (he does not get around real well) and I get to take my nephew out for his first deer hunt as well. Some old hunting partners back in camp as well as some guys from turkey camp are headed over. Good luck to all headed out. I can not wait to see the pics  :EAT: :cue:
