thanks

I would tell her to go for it and then for all apparent purposes ignore her. Train your dog as you were, it certainly doesn't sound to me as though you are abusing it. If you talked to the cop he should remember you and if she comes back and gives you grief you can beat her at her own game and get a restraining order :) that would really make her day I'll bet!

Hell you are lucky. A good friend was chased out of Bozeman, Montana because he was not meeting the emotional needs of the dogs he trains for other people. I'm not kidding, he was getting hate mail, hate phone calls, hate signs on his property etc. He finally sold out and moved to a different location in Montana where the necks are red, the socks are white and they drink blue ribbon instead of cabernet sauvignon.
His father in law was eventually motivated into moving also but for a good price to develop his homesteaded farm land.(apparently the farm was too stinky for the chee chee a-holes that live in Bozeman)

All you need to know about a person can be learned by just watching their dog and the interaction with the "owner".
-
don't have hunting dogs ( I have Siberians they kill any thing 200# or under) when I got to "Lickalotpus" laugh my ass off :chuckle: :chuckle: hope your dog training goes well - made my day :)
-
I would have told her to kiss my redneck ass. People need to mind their own damn business! I hate people like that.
-
You could have stopped after the word Liberal and your title would have been perfect! ;)

:yeah:
STAND YOUR GROUND! this is how we loose rights! We go along to get along.... That is what most people try and do... It results in the slow erosion of our rights and freedom... By law or by social norms.... It starts by acting PC then as more people act PC it becomes common, then law... I had a neighbor give me grief for Yelling at my dog. :bash: I told her to but out... Stand your ground... enjoy your beer and dip... Regroup and don't get mad... Don't get mad get even.. And the best revenge is living well...

You're exactly right.
I would continue training there and ignore her.
-
I would say have another beer and forget about the stupid *&%. (insert any word you see fit, but one really comes to mind)
-
Bro... Keep training your dog there. Don't let those type of people get to you. That's exactly why they keep getting their way. They are a small percentage of the population yet they are very loud so they get attention.
Next time you see her just give her a great big smile and a wave and act like you're happy to see her.
.... she'll wonder what you're up to :peep:
-
Could be a yeast infection. Just ignore it.
-
She was just pissed because you have a penis and she wishes that she did!

that is so funny :chuckle: :chuckle:
and for the record all sorts of people train with ecollars not just rednecks ;) there is much heated debate over these items in the world of dogs....just as there is debate over whips and stud chains in the world of horses....just ignore people like this they simply like being miserable :dunno:
-
I would have told her that since she bothered you, that you were going to go home and kill a few puppies and kittens, all because of her. 8)
-
Icy, he could of offered to loan her the collar and controler so her & her partner could experiment with some electrified sex.
-
I thought they knew more about pusssy cats than dogs...? :dunno:
-
i remember a few years back when i was disciplining my lab my nosy neighbor yelled at me, i told her to be quiet or she is next!! not 20 min later i had the locale p.d. at my place,(fellow duck hunter as well) so i filled him in and he laughed at the situation after looking at my dog ,the kennel ,the yard and played with my pup he went and told her to not worry about what i do on my property and to mind her on business.
-
I feel for ya, I'm lucky that I have a private field that I can train my dog on. I just started using the e-collar in the last few months and I know its not a bad thing when my dog gets happy when i put it on her! luckily I haven't had any run ins with ignorant people, but its just a pretty big misconception people have about them. I don't know what I would have done in your situation, just depends on what mood I am in I guess
-
OK, I am not officially condoning this, but I know this guy...and this is what he would do..
1. Kill a coyote
2. Put a collar around it's neck
3. Snap a leash to the collar
4. Tie the end of the leash to her back bumper
5. Slide the coyote up under her car
6. crack a beer, sit back, and wait for her to leave the house
...you can play the rest out in your head...
-
:chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
i love it, sounds like a master plan
-
Now all I need to do is report her to the authorities for animal abuse. I'm pretty sure that kitty has been neglected for years...... :yike:  Ha, thats the last one I promise
I'll bet the fur has been comletely rubbed off of it!

I woulda told the biaaatch to go clean some carpet

I woulda told the biaaatch to go clean some carpet
she's probably already doing that if she's a lez
-
Was this in Ellensburg?
-
Go back and train your partner there tomorrow. Don't let he/she win
-
Well its best that you kept your calm and didn't go off on her. I would continue to go to that field training. If she happens to come by you again when training ignore her. I wouldn't give her the time of day nor breath to dignify her existance!!If she continues to harass call the cops on her dumb ass.

I agree with what everyone is saying but, there must be some reasonable middle ground. What we must consider is what happened in Europe. E-Collars are illegal. If we insight the noise raisers, look bad or generate any bad opinion of what we do in public we're not doing ourselves any service. Crissy G and her henchwomen will just work on taking away the few remaining freedoms we still have.
Much like many responses to threads when tree huggies are lurking or, when our senator is asking questions about wolves. Do we hold our tongues and be respectful or, do we tell the senator we're out to SSS every one we can find?
Consider how we like and need to be seen in the public's perspective as hunters. Same holds true for training dogs.
I'd ask, how can someone tell you are using an e-collar when they are just walking by? If your doing brush up training on handling, only you as a handler should be able to tell your dog has been corrected. If your getting a "cry" response from your dog, your doing "tune up" drills, in public, I'd say you're using too much juice if some un-educated tree hugger can tell you're using the collar. Anything more than a little head tilt and its too much for someone to see who doesn't know what e-collars are about.
If you need to do training and make collar corrections which are more severe and illicit noise, crying, barking or visible response from your dog, i think you should do it outside of town where you won't get noticed.
If you are not on your own property, she has as much right to tell you you're an A**hole as you do for standing there and training your dog- it really goes both ways. As hunters / dog guys whatever, keeping a good public opinion of us is the best policy. Lighting up your dog with an e-collar in public is the same as strapping a deer to the hood of your truck in my opinion. In poor taste.
Personally, I don't like to train around or near public and if I do, I'm not doing any work involving an e-collar. Nothing wrong with strapping on the tennis shoes.......just sayin'

Happy, Nice post and thanks for putting to words what I have been thinking since I read the original post and some of the follow up post encouraging the original poster to stoop to a level that sportsmen should not consider stooping to. Image is everything in our broad spectrum as hunters, dog trainers, fishermen, etc. Lee

Yeah, but if you do the "coyote" thing, no one will actually know it was you... :chuckle:

Is the coyote thing letting his dog hump her leg?
-
The coyote is when you're stuck in bed and you chew your arm off to make a quiet getaway!
-

I would still do my training there and F*** her..............People like her need to really mind there own buisness before they run into the wrong person that won't take there mouthing very well..............had to be an OBAMA LOVING amrican...............
