Went out scouting Sat all around Lower Crab Creek... Not a lot of birds flying around- found a few spots to potentially check out further when we get a bit more rain. If anyone has any suggestions / recommendations please PM me- would definitely appreciate it.
We did see some pretty weird stuff though. Drove up a side road about 3 or 4 miles off the main road, got out to scout a bit since this area had a great view of a lot of terrain. Walked around little bend and saw a goat (domestic) that had been there for a while- bones and some skin was all that left. Something definitely devoured it. It's hind legs were tied together with some rope. Looked like it'd been there for a few weeks. The weird part was that about 10 feet away was a fresh goat. Same size- looked a bit bloated, but it wasn't there for too long, maybe a day? Hind legs were bound together the same way, with the same rope. It was a pretty weird scene- definitely not sure what was going on. Weird.

Definitely strange to see a boat made of skin and bones.... :chuckle:
Either some kind of weird bait site or just some complete nutjobs in the area.

You need to report this to the WSP and BLM. One of the two hopefully will investigate. That is animal crulity which is just a step away from doing harm to humans. BLM has lots of land therevif a crime is being committed they hopefully will look into it.

You don't think he just wandered up on a carcass dump site and that the legs were tied together to help carry/load the goat? :dunno:

That's what I was thinking. Probably just a goat farmer getting rid of some dead goats.
-
Yeah I thought about that- except this is pretty random place to dump goats, when you can dump them a lot closer and less off the road. Also they were younger smaller goats, pretty easy to pick up w/o a rope. The fact that one was there for a few weeks, and one was there within a day or so- that's what the weird part.
Sisu, I called BLM and WSP and gave some directions and a description- the guy I talked to at WSP said they've had some weird activity reported by campers of weird noises/odd behavior in the general area we were talking about. I'll keep you posted.

Isn't that the area they are talking about putting another dam in? another irrigation project?

DuckFvr posted some crazy dead goat pics on here a while back.

does anybody have a link to his post?

I Just did a quick search and couldn't find anything... Any help Jackelope?

We find goat carcasses all the time. Its the choice meat of many folks for BBQ around here. Likely you found a few carcasses from a few good weekend BBQ's. They tie the feet together to hang in the pit.
-
:yeah: It kinda looks wierd when you find stuff like that. I see goat, sheep, calves, etc all over public hunting areas. Like said above, a lot of folks around here love to eat goats and sheep. When we had sheep, We would have lots of request for " cheap sheep''. People wanted old ewes to BBQ. Starnge to find one bloating and not ate though. Must be a dead pile. :dunno:
-
yeah, i would think just a dead pile as well.
-
Maybe, maybe not. If BLM & WSP are interested that says something. I've had my training with Federal folks involving cult, organized crime, 1%ers, bangers etc. so when weird ass dead critters make their showing in the dead form you got to step back look at "What in the hell took place here". Chances are you guys are correct some one getting rid of dead stock, but it pays to be careful.
-
Hey Spuddies... maybe they heard your duck call and got scared... lol
-
what's a 1%er ?

what's a 1%er ?
OMG (outlaw motorcycle gangs).

ohhhh like the MC SAMCRO?

Yes, like that except real... Bandidos are the dominant club in WA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandidos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandidos)

BLM will ONLY get involved if the "incident" is on BLM property. If this is on WDFW, DNR, USFWS, or anybody elses property then BLM has no jurisdiction.

Let me think of a way to say this nicely... :dunno: The Hispanic population is very large in the area and love to eat goats its just someones dumping grounds for the carcasses I wouldn't worry about it! Did you eat at a taco bus? You might have had goat.... Yummy!!

I am familiar with them, never heard of the 1%'ers though. There used to be more but most of the "OMG" gangs of WA seem to have scattered.
