i see the numbers picked back up and the avg is about 1500 steelies a day and the silvers jumped back up. might have to go fishin a few more times. what where you guys using for bait? dragin sand shrimp? or bouncin egg's?
-
using the red bait shrimp casting out and reeling in really slow. also just dropping it over the side of the boat in about 14-15 feet of water. they weren't hitting it hard. just nibbling at it. The bite was light sometimes and sometimes they would run with it. Most of the time they would eat the heads off the shrimp.
-
yeah they have been bad about suckin brains this year. i had about 20 shrimp in one day get the heads sucked off at the white salmon. early on when we were bobber fishin, they would grab it and you bobber would just shoot to the bottom. you hardly didn't have to set the hook. then the last 3-4 times i was down their they were just playin with it and would not give a guy a soild take down. a guy had to be on edge and ready to swing to any moment because they where just taste in it. :chuckle:
-
:chuckle: yup. sometimes I didn't know if I should let them have a bit more or set the hook. every time I should have set the hook and I didnt. :chuckle:
-
:chuckle: i know the feeling. i tend to be talking to them to :dunno: " come on, come on, eat it, eat it" darn should have swung :bash:
:lol4:

Here is a king and a nice steel head my buddy's caught a few weeks ago down there when we went.

those are some hogs!

Yeah carp the steelhead didn't hardly take the bobber down this year. Most of the time they would just mess with it, on still days you could see your bobber go down the corkie and shoot right back up in about 1 second, they would do this until you shrimp was gone :bash:. After that I just started swinging on em when they did that, got a few missed a lot :bash:

me 2 :chuckle: had 14 fish on this year landed 11. 6 keeper steelhead 1 keeper salmon. 1 salmon from a boat i had to turn back. lost 3 i had on from hook pulling out, just barely had them hooked from swinging on them. also caught 3 wild steelhead. not bad in 9 trips. but i had about 4 or 5 other fish i should of hooked up on and did not :bash:
