Hey Guys I am in need of some Extra Deer Capes for stock. Every year I get in the occational animal with a cape that is unmountable for one reason or another or someone wants to mount a nice set of sheds. I like to have stock capes on hand for those that may need one.
Price depends on the size and quality of the cape. Deer up to $75. XXLarge capes can bring more. I will exchange antler plaques for capes or shop credit. If I have enough cash available sometimes I will pay cash.
If any of you shoot an animal with a nice cape and decent neck size and don't plan on mounting it, please let me know. The antlers and/or Horns will be returned to you. If you have any questions just give me a call: (360) 704 - 0034.

Do you want wt capes?

Being in western Washington, are you targeting blacktail capes or are mulies/whitetail also something you are interested in?
Just checking :)
P.S. I can see that part of my question was asked while I was typing mine :o
-
How about some stump coordinates in trade :P
-
Yes guys I am looking for Mule Deer, Whitetail, and Blacktail Capes!
Stump coordinates GEARHEAD? No problem, I will run up in to the woods tomarrow and pick out some dandy stumps and send you the coords. :chuckle: :chuckle:

This year I'll try to keep them from freezing-thawing-freezing-thawing-freezing-thawing before I get them to you.... :chuckle:
-
Will the antlers be returned attached to the skull cap or will they be separated?

Yes they will be on the skull cap. If I have room in my freezer I will leave the entire skull intact so you can take it home and do a Euro if you want just cash or credit.

Sounds good.
-
Still need capes! :)
-
How much credit would a good deer cape be worth? Elk?
-
Dumb dumb idiotic question I am guessing -- do you need does too or just the boys? Or does it not really matter the gender of the cape?
I've only seen does this year so far (archery). If you want capes of any gender, I'll make sure to keep the cape for you even if I get a doe.

YOur welcome, still new to this taxi stuff, someday I will learn :chuckle:
-
Sorry Mich, nothing yet :dunno:
Bad luck this year. Been hunting hard, but just finally saw a legal buck this morning at less than 500 yards (first one), but couldn't get a shot. PathfinderJR had to settle for a doe last night. Opening weekend was a circus this year. I've gotta change something next year, bow, muzzy, new area, something... :'(
-
Hey guys I could still use some more deer capes! :)
-
Sorry Mich. i struck out this year (for Washington anyway). Had two buddies call me and tell me they had a cape and to come get it, and when I got there, the throat was cut... :bash:

You have no idea. Last night of the season I spotted a mulie buck. Couldn't count points, bu 1/2 hour before dark and nothing to lose, so I stalked him. Got to 200 yards with the last few minutes of shooting light. I had left my spotting scope behind during the stalk because I had to crawl. Got into position and he was bedded, less than 200 yards. STILL couldn't see his points (low light, looking into the setting sun, antlers the same color as the brush, laying in the shadows, etc...). We stared at each other for the last few minutes of shooting light, and he finally got up and trotted over the hill. When he skylined, I clearly saw he was a 4x4... :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :'( :'( :'(

:chuckle: That sucks! You still got any out of state tags for deer?

Yup. Still got a Montana tag in my pocket... counting on that one... ;)
-
:) Hey guys and gals I could still use some more Deer Capes, please!
-
Sorry Mich. My buddy and I both tagged out in Montana, but we both decided to get our bucks mounted. On the other hand, I just realized that I need a good taxidermist... ;)
PM Sent.

Michelle,
I've been putting out the word to my fellow tribal hunters about the demand for Roosevelt elk and blacktail deer capes for taxidermy work. I see quite a few capes from mature animals go to waste every year. My questions is, can you take capes from animals harvested on tribal tags and if so what do you require to make sure that you're legal in possessing the capes? Tribal transport permit? copy of tag?
Will you trade capes for lessons? :)

i have a 21 inch blacktail cape professionally wet tanned in the freezer ready to mount. what is something like this worth?
