Any one know how to get near a whitetail in Dayton where they can see you coming over the wheat fields for miles
-
Simple: Be the deer. Or, maybe get one of the costumes from the guys that make 'em for antelope. Put that baby on and just kind of sneak up real nice and slow. Put some estrus scent on your butt and the bucks will come right up and try a little humpy hump.
Or......scout the lay of the land, learn the tricks the sneaky buggers use to arrive and leave feeding areas, get into one of the billion shallow depressions, and hunt them like antelope.
Simple.

there's deer, but there's a lot of private ground, too. CRP land has some deer, too, but a lot of hunters. best bet... get in good with a farmer/landowner and get access to some private ground.
