Whiskey and I went out today and after about 2 1/2 hours and it pouring on us, we started heading back to the truck. En route, he started getting excited around a blackberry bush. I started pulling the gun up when he kicked it out. Before I had a chance to shoot, Whiskey grabbed it mid flight and broke its neck. :chuckle: I had to take it out of his mouth and let it get away before I shot it. Pretty proud of him for being his first time pheasant hunting with me.

Thats Fantastic! Thank you for providing Whiskey with a good home. I hope you guys have a blast together and look forward to more awesome pictures. Way to go!

Congrats. Where were you guys at? Nice job Whisky! :IBCOOL:

We went on Fort Lewis at Training Area 15 yesterday. We went again today and jumped another about 10 minutes into, but our hunt was cut short after some guys got a little trigger happy and shot at bird that was in a direct line of me about 60 yards away. I was hit by about pieces of lead on my hand that almost broke my skin. >:( Thought it might be best just to leave after that before I got a little too heated. :bash:

Really, HOLY COW. Did anyone say anything to them. I thought FT. Lewis ran a tighter ship then that. Glad you are OK.

Good job, I bet your proud. I still remeber my dogs first bird like it was yesteray. Keep whiskey working them birds!

They actually do run a decent ship normally. Once you register, there is a telephonic sign in/out and a controlled number of hunters per day. I guess those other guys were just blinded by their own (pheasant) ambitions, but let's face it, I think we've all passed up a bird/deer/duck or other to not take the chance of shooting someone.
