Title: looking for white tail.

Its possible you may find a Whitetail or two around Colville, a few less than last year tho! ;)

Actually that's not quite true, 2 of the past three winters knocked the herd down about 60-75%. Some whitetails are there, but it's certainly not loaded anymore.

Post by: RippinLips on October 14, 2010, 11:02:21 AM: last year i hunted up towards northport i forget what mountain we were on but there sure was a lot of deer up there. dad got a dandy 9 and i ended up passin on a deer i shouldnt have but if you can get up around that area ive heard a lot of luck comin around there

thats for damn sure the winter and cougar kill last year crushed my luck around the sherman pass area which used to be my dads go to spot every year and dropped some awesome bucks but not no more. i seen 16 does and a spike last year :'(

OH...I stand corrected then, its been 5yrs sense I hunted White-tail. Last time I did I've seen 12 bucks in 5 days in that area (mostly spikes and forkers, all shooters). So I just assumed they were still going strong. My bad.

used to be, numbers areway down since i started going 2000. Still cant resist chasing those whitetail, gotta go take the rifle for a hike.
